Tukač, V. ; Hanika, Jiří ; Veselý, Václav ; Kovač, D. ; Lederer, J. ; Nečesaný, F.
Modelling of parameters effect on complex chemical equilibrium during biowastes gassification by partial oxidation was investigated in the study. Simulated adiabatic temperature and products distribution were compared with POX pilot plant experiments using mixture of rape waste and mineral oil. Investigation of flow and mixing conditions inside the reactor using CFD method has been made as well.

Hanika, Jiří ; Lederer, J. ; Nečesaný, F. ; Tukač, V. ; Veselý, Václav
Preliminary results of BIOVODIK project are presented in the study. Investigation of simultaneous gasification of crude oil rests and rape waste was made by simulation and experimental tests using pilot plant reactor.

Tukač, V. ; Handlová, M. ; Sazanov, Z. ; Lederer, J. ; Kolena, J. ; Kubička, D. ; Hanika, Jiří ; Jiřičný, Vladimír
Steady state experiments on test unit with diluted bed of catalyst were focussed on pyrolysis gasoline components hydrogenation and its apparent activation energy determination. Effects of hydrogen transfer and catalyst deactivation on pilot plant unit in Chemopetrol Co. Litvinov have been demonstrated. Hydrogenation of pyrolysis gasoline and toluene mixture has been investigated as well. Using feed rate periodic modulation the reaction rate, enhancement factor and selectivity of consecutive dicyclopentadiene transformation were determined.
Potential Hydrogen Production by Partial Oxidation of Waste Biomass
Tukač, V. ; Tomešová, Z. ; Hanika, Jiří ; Veselý, Václav ; Lederer, J. ; Nečesaný, F.
Using process simulator AspenPlus equilibrium composition of biomass (rape waste) partial oxidation product was calculated. Problem was solved by Gibbs‘ function minimization for model reaction components. Attention was paid also to partial incineration of rape waste. Experimental results were in good agreement with model simulation.
Intenzifikace hydrogenace pyrolýzního benzinu v poloprovozním zkrápěném reaktoru s periodicky modulovanou rychlostí nástřiku
Tukač, V. ; Handlová, M. ; Chyba, V. ; Lederer, J. ; Kolena, J. ; Kubička, D. ; Hanika, Jiří ; Jiřičný, Vladimír ; Stavárek, Petr
Comparison of both periodic and steady state hydrogenation of pyrolysis gasoline dissolved in toluene in pilot scale trickle bed reactor is reported. Enhancement of reaction rate under periodic operation mode is followed by higher mean catalyst bed temperature and broader pressure drop fluctuation with respect to steady state ones.

Jiřičný, Vladimír ; Staněk, Vladimír ; Stavárek, Petr ; Vychodilová, Hana ; Vlček, Dalibor ; Karfík, David ; Tukač, V. ; Chyba, V. ; Lederer, J. ; Kolena, J. ; Kubička, D. ; Hanika, Jiří
The results of the research of hydrogenation reaction running in Trickle bed reactor (TBR) under condition of steady state or periodic pulse modulation of liquid feed are presented in the report. The effect od pulse period and split on reaction conversion including optimal operation conditions was determined. Yhe extensive hydrodynamic study of TBR was conducted and judged in terms of pressure drop profiles along the catalytic layer, liquid hold up and residence time distribution. Results of hydrodynamic study confirm determination of optimal operating conditions related to maximum conversion.
Thermodynamics of Biowaste and Refinery Waste Partial Oxidation
Tukač, V. ; Hanika, Jiří ; Veselý, Václav ; Lederer, J. ; Nečesaný, F.
Complex chemical equilibrium of biowaste gasification by partial oxidation in presence of water steam was simulated using AspenPlus software. Both waste from colza oil production and visbreaking waste were investigated from the hydrogen/carbon oxide mixture formation point of view. Parametric sensitivity of product compositon on reaction temperature was discussed in the study.
Liquid Holdup in Hydrogenation Trickle Bed Reactor
Stavárek, Petr ; Jiřičný, Vladimír ; Staněk, Vladimír ; Hanika, Jiří ; Lederer, J. ; Tukač, V.
Experimental study of liquid holdup in trickle bed reactor with organic liquid is presented. On-line column weighting method was employed for liquid holdup measurements. Liquid holdup was measured in wide range of gas and liquid flow rates covering film and pulse flow regime. Porous and nonporous bed packing was used. Measured liquid holdup values were in good agreement with the predictions of empirical correlation from literature. Presented results are a part of the project New operational methods of trickle bed reactors – intensification and safe control supported by Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic (grant no. MPO FT-TA/039).
Experiences from Trickle Bed Reactor Intenzification by Periodic Feed Rate Modulation.
Hanika, Jiří ; Jiřičný, Vladimír ; Kubička, D. ; Lederer, J. ; Tukač, V.
Experiences from pilot plant trickle bed reactor experiments during liquid reaction mixture feed rate modulation made in period 2004-2007 were discussed in the lecture. The pilot plant unit has been installed in Research Centre Chemopetrol a.s. Litvínov. The project FT-TA/039 has been supported by Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade.
