Catastrophic risk in the insurance and new financial products and derivates for it´s solution

Focus of this thesis is on catastrophic events in the world in the last two decades, on large economic losses they had caused and it examines the issue of insurance and reinsurance market. The first part is focused on the definition of disaster in insurance, basic risk management methods and role of insurance and reinsurance companies. In the second part is examined the development of catastrophes number, extent of their impact and the development in the year 2011. There is also described run through and impact of several significant events in last ten years. The third part examines the area of alternate risk transfer to capital markets by catastrophe risk-linked securities.

Investment life insurance on the Czech insurance market

The theme of my thesis is "Investment life insurance in the Czech insurance market". At the beginning of my work I will analyse the developement of investment life insurance, which I mean the very beginning of the insurance industry in our territory to the insurance industry after the establishment of the independent Czech Republic. Attention in this section is paid and number of insurance companies, developement of prescribed premium or the number of insured persons. The second part is devoted to the characteristics of investment life insurance, such as the definition itself, its objective, conceptual apparatus, but also a form of investment strategies, creation of reserves and no less important level of charges. In the third section I compare the investment life insurance with other insurance products, namely capital life insurance and retirement life insurance. Comparison is made on insurance products of Kooperativa, a.s. Advantage of investment life insurance in connection with the past, present and the views and plans for the future are dealt with in another part of my work, with also mention the current crisis and factors affecting the investment life insurance market. In the fifth part I focus on pension reform and the potential impact on the investment life insurance. The conclusion is devoted to a specific models predetermined assumptions for different age groups.

New approches to business interruption insurance.

Business interruption insurance is one of the fundamental pillars of the company insurance. Importance of business interruption insurance (cover subsequent financial losses) can exceed insurance of property. Along with development in computer technology, industrial manufacturing and globalization of all areas of production we can see an increase of potential hazards and the need for new types of insurance. Insurers flexibly respond to these demands. This thesis analyzes trends, types and construction of business interruption insurance, especially its current form. The importance of this insurance is in many cases underestimated, which is valid in the Czech Republic as well. For this reason thesis proposed approaches which should help to individualize the product for specific cases and put it near to small and medium-sized businesses.

Analýza úrazového pojištění České pojišťovny a.s.

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na úrazové pojištění poskytované Českou pojišťovnou a.s. Cílem práce je zejména analyzovat produkty úrazového pojištění na území České republiky, resp. Československa, se zvýšenou pozorností na 2. polovinu 20. století. V úvodních kapitolách jsou definovány osoby vstupující do úrazového pojištění a základní charakteristiky pojistné smlouvy. Součástí je též charakteristika současného vývoje a srovnání základních druhů úrazových pojistek v čase. Závěr je věnován statistickým údajům, týkajících se některých rizikových faktorů.
