The influence of disintegration of the input material for the production of methane by anaerobic fermentation
Herman, Pavel ; Frýba, Lukáš (referee) ; Houdková, Lucie (advisor)
This master‘s thesis deals with the influence of disintegration of brewer's grains for the production of biogas by anaerobic fermentation. The first part introduces us with the issue of biodegradable wastes. There are given their characteristics, ways of handling with them and legislative restrictions associated with them. In other sections there is a detailed description of anaerobic fermentation itself, including characteristics of biogas. Then there is issue of disintegration during fermentation including a list and characteristic of some disintegration methods. The main part of the thesis consists of description of the experiments on which it is observed increment of biogas based on the disintegration of brewer's grains and the evaluation of the individual experiments including the calculation of economic of the disintegration in laboratory conditions.
Effective investments in the Czech Republic waste management
Suchomel, Kamil ; Putna, Ondřej (referee) ; Frýba, Lukáš (advisor)
Bachelor's thesis describes the production of waste in individual regions and their investments in waste management. By comparing these two values is deduced the utilization of investments. It also contains basic information about the Operational Environmental Program.
Sewage sludge incineration
Švehlová, Tereza ; Frýba, Lukáš (referee) ; Bébar, Ladislav (advisor)
The master´s thesis deals with the problem of sewage sludge from wastewater treatment plants and their subsequent incineration. Main aim is compare some possibilities of the energy use of mechanically dewatered sewage sludge and sewage sludge with previous anaerobic pre-treatment for various levels of drying sludge.
Energy utilization of sewage sludge
Poláková, Annamária ; Ferdan, Tomáš (referee) ; Frýba, Lukáš (advisor)
This bachelor’s work discusses the origin and composition of the sludge. The composition of sludge is given by legislation, as well as its treatment and processing. Sludge shall be adjusted in order to be used on agricultural land, landfilled, incinerated, etc. The sludge processes are described further in this work. Sludge disposal options are varied, but not everywhere equally represented. This is represented in chapter where treatment of sludge in Czech Republic and abroad are compared, illustrated in chats. The most extensive and most common method of disposal of sludge is application on the ground and burning. Usable energy is obtained by burning the sludge.
Co-incineration sewage sludge in the existing plant
Krejčí, Tomáš ; Ferdan, Tomáš (referee) ; Frýba, Lukáš (advisor)
This thesis focuses on problems with co-incineration of sewage sludge in existing plants. The introduction of my thesis deals with a brief summary of a sludge management, sludge treatment methods and subsequent utilizations methods used for sledge disposal. Next chapter contains a calculation of calorific value, depending on the water content and volatile substances in dry solids of the sludge, it offers an overview of devices applicable for thermal processing of sludge and a description of the co-incineration in existing plants. The seventh chapter is devoted to the legislative parameters which influence the ways of dealing with sewage sludge. After the thermal treatment of sludge it is necessary to decontaminate flue gases of harmful substances resulting from incineration process, thus following there is a description of the most important devices used for its elimination or its reduction. My work ends with a search of methods dealing with the thermal sludge utilization in foreign countries.
Evaluation of the alternatives of PCDD/F removing in the incineration plants
Frýba, Lukáš ; Kropáč, Jiří (referee) ; Bébar, Ladislav (advisor)
The thesis is focused on analyzing the current status of the technology used for cleaning flue gas from persistent organic pollutants, especially PCDD/F. For the three most commonly used methods of solution operational and energy efficiency comparison was made, where achievable energy export and the impact of the change in working conditions on the efficiency indicators of energy production and use of the energy was evaluated. In conditions we considered an alternative machine-technological solutions used for the final disposal of persistent organic pollutants resulting from the waste combustion in terms of additional operating costs and energy efficiency.
Energetical utilization of waste, especially sewage sludge
Havlásek, Martin ; Kuba, Pavel (referee) ; Frýba, Lukáš (advisor)
This bachelor´s work discusses about energetical utilization of sewage sludge. The process is described from sludge treatment to flue gas cleaning. The main emphasis is on incineration, which are governed by legislation. First are listed sludge treatment and utilization technology which included thermal processing in which is thoroughly described the process of incineration. The following are methods for co-incineration of sludge and devices for direct incineration. Work is finished by chapter about flue gas cleaning.
Conception of Thermal Treatment of Waste from Municipal Sector
Frýba, Lukáš ; Jegla, Zdeněk (referee) ; Kos, Miroslav (referee) ; Bébar, Ladislav (advisor)
European Union and states of European Union legislation are updated according new information about the composition and content of danger compounds in the sewage sludge from municipal waste water treatment plants. It has the effect on using of modern technologies for disposal in sewage sludge treatment. These methods are designed for sewage sludge hygienization, amount reduction, material transformation for next using or sludge incineration for energy production and utilization. The thesis is focuses on the effective thermal treatment of sewage sludge from waste water treatment plants. An important part of the line for sewage sludge incineration is pre-treatment and reduction of water content. The water content reducing is a high energy consumption process which is helpfull to use waste heat from energy plants where it would be loosed without using.
Similar solution identification in the field of stochastic simulation related to waste management
Gal, Pavel ; Frýba, Lukáš (referee) ; Šomplák, Radovan (advisor)
The Master’s thesis deals with the issue of collecting mixed municipal waste from producers to a~waste-to-energy or landfills. The initial chapters are aimed to waste legislation and transportation of the waste by road freight transport across Europe. The objective is to collect the data, that are required for calculation in tool NERUDA. The next part describes the cluster analysis and different approaches in it. The selected methods of cluster analysis are apllied to the logistic task in the final chapters. The cluster analysis is considered from different aspects. The results are visualized using the software ArcGIS.
