Design of shallow foundation using Penetration tests
Bastl, Jiří ; Fiala, Radek (referee) ; Štefaňák, Jan (advisor)
The bachelor´s thesis focuses on the principle and implementation of penetration tests and search procedures using the test results of penetration test for design of shallow foundations. The purpose of this work is to compare the design of sallow foundations using conventional methods and computational methods based on the use of penetration tests. In the project TA04031092 – interpretation and correlation of dynamic and static penetration test, I worked with data on which I assembled and tested correlations between cohesion of clays and penetration resistance for the region and around Brno.
Pile design based on Penetration tests
Koudela, Pavel ; Leiter, Augustin (referee) ; Štefaňák, Jan (advisor)
Application of penetration tests at the design of piles foundation is the main subject of this thesis. The main target of this work is calculation of bearing capacity and settlement of single piles. In the thesis are use a new computational relations based on corelation which used relation between penetration values and parameters from laboratory tests. The bearing capacity of the pile is calculation from the derived relations, by the software and laboratory test, too. This types of calculations are executed for comparasion with new computational relations.
Design and evaluation of the remedial works of railway embankment in Vsetín area
Vašina, Adam ; Paseka, Antonín (referee) ; Štefaňák, Jan (advisor)
This document is focused on the elucidation of embankment deformation nearby žst. Valašská Polanka, with subsequent proposal of remediation measures, for which the own software and commercial software Plaxis 2D were used.
The Design of Object Foundation
Adamík, Václav ; Štefaňák, Jan (referee) ; Glisníková, Věra (advisor)
The aim of this work is to introduce the foundation of buildings and to make a closer approach to the issue of deep foundation, which is needed to replace the shallow foundation. The reason is a small carrying capacity or too big compressibility of foundation soil. The main point of this work is practical solution of concrete deep foundation and comparing results from a calculation program GEO 5 with results which we get without using the calculation program.
Defects of railway embankments resulting from their widening in the past
Buzgóová, Ivana ; Grepl, Jan (referee) ; Štefaňák, Jan (advisor)
First chapter of this master's thesis describes specific features of railway embankments in the past and it creates basics for appropriate understanding of following parts. Next, historical development of dimensions of railway platform is introduced. Historical development of dimensions is expected to be a possible reason in field of defects of embankments. Separate chapter refers to various locations in Czech republic where defects of railway embankments can be detected. Description contains not only defects of embankments but also ways of rehabilitation that were performed. Subsequently, the methods of rehabilitation of railway embankments are stated in regard to SŽ S4. In second part of the master's thesis, rehabilitation arrangement of particular railway embankment is designed. It is situated in Česká Kamenice in Děčín region. A numerical simulation of embankment is carried out in Plaxis 2D. The description of model and acquired results are given.

Evaluation of the remedial works in railway embankment
Vašina, Adam ; Závacký, Martin (referee) ; Štefaňák, Jan (advisor)
Project „Kolejové úpravy v žst. Žďár nad Sázavou“ contains remedial works of inconvenient railway embankment between Brno-Havlíčkův Brod. This document is about appraisal of remedial works in software Plaxis 2D and with summary of basic remedial works in railways in Czech Republic.
Fully probabilistic evaluation of the load-bearing capacity of a shallow foundation
Šarman, Jan ; Závacký, Martin (referee) ; Štefaňák, Jan (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the topic of probabilistic design of the shallow foundation. In the first part deterministic and probabilistic design will be described. Subsequently both methods will be aplicated on assigned problem. Finally both methods will be evaluated and compared.
Statistical analysis of the acceptance tests of ground anchors
Štefaňák, Jan ; Hrubešová,, Eva (referee) ; Záleský,, Jan (referee) ; Masopust, Jan (advisor)
The objective of dissertation is to find the approaches for processing the data extracted from the reports that document the performing of acceptance tests of ground anchors. The purpose of this activity is to allow further utilization of this data for designing practice. 795 test records were collected. It is essential for the correctness of analysis, that the whole anchor bond must be placed in homogeneous material. The records for anchors that don’t fulfilled this condition were removed. The set of 379 records of anchors installed in six different soil types during construction work in Czech Republic remained. All those anchors were tested according the demands of european standard ČSN EN 1537:2001, valid until 2013. The methodics based on the mathematical statistics, regression analysis and probability methods were compiled during solving the task defined above. The major result of data processing that was performed via methodics based on combination of mathematical statistics and probability simulation methods is the set of bond shear stress parameter values elaborated for variety of soil types. The regression model for determination of the force-displacement curve and the model predicting the creep behavior of loaded ground anchor were constructed, where the creep value is dependent on the tendon bond length, tendon free length and on the level of prestressing force. The description of full-scale experiment, whose results were used for verification of assumptions incorporated in relevant methodics, is included. The example of determining the probability of failure of anchored structure using the stochastic simulation technique is mentioned also, where the previously obtained results are used as input values for this calculation. Moreover, the software application serving for automatization of processes associated to conducting of the tests of ground anchors and to creating the test report is introduced.
