The Effect of Deflocculation of Raw Materials Mixture for Porcelain Body Based on Calcium Aluminous Cement
Kašíková, Milada ; Keršnerová, Lucie (referee) ; Sokolář, Radomír (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on the liquefaction alumina cements using suitable species plasticizers. The practical part will be compared results liquification aluminous cement and kaolin, which is used in the traditional ceramics.
The Effect of Quartz Sand and Feldspar Granulometry on the Sintering of Porcelain Body
Bajer, Tomáš ; Nevřivová, Lenka (referee) ; Sokolář, Radomír (advisor)
Properties of quartz and feldspar as two most used fundamental materials for porcelain production have significant effect on final technical properties of the product. Generally, it is considered the finer the materials the better the end product’s properties. The degree, to which particle size distribution influences these properties and the reason why, is summarized in this paper. At the end, practical tests were performed to confirm the gathered information.
Utilization of Nanofibres in the Traditional Ceramics Body
Sedláček, Daniel ; Stančík,, Hynek (referee) ; Sokolář, Radomír (advisor)
This thesis summarizes the current knowledge about ceramic composites with nanofibers. So far, most research focused on the reinforcement of hi-tech ceramics, such as carbides and nitrides, however, this traditional ceramics left behind. Due to the improving the efficiency of production of nanofibers and thus a drop in prices, companies consider their use even in a cheaper ceramic materials. Reinforcement of traditional ceramic shard could theoretically improve many characteristics, but there are absolute minimum of practical researches.
Utilization of clays with low sintering temperature in brick technology
Sláma, Jakub ; Skotal, Zbyněk (referee) ; Sokolář, Radomír (advisor)
Bachelor thesis focuses on the use of the low sintering clays as additives in brickmaking. Their main use in the brick industry is mainly in the production of facing bricks and roof tiles. They are used for their very good sintering ability even at relatively lower firing temperatures. This feature is the most important for frost resistence of brick fragment. The theoretical part contains a summary and characteristic features of clays occurring in the Czech Republic and abroad. Further their requirements and laboratory testing of brick clay. In the practical part was conducted market research where are outlined available low sintering clays that may be proposed for use in brick fragment based on declared sintering. An experiment was performed in the next part of bachelor thesis to assess the effect of using low sintering clay in terms of particular brick factory in the Czech Republic (Tondach Šlapanice).
Bigots Curve for the Determination of Plastic Body Properties
Suk, Vojtěch ; Nevřivová, Lenka (referee) ; Sokolář, Radomír (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on the use of the Bigot curve as a tool for assessing the performance of plastic ceramic materials. The theoretical thesis is a form of research of available literature. It elaborates a general view on the Bigot curve and possible application properties which derive from it for some specific soil. In the experimental part were determined properties of plastic ceramic material from location Jirčany from which were formed samples made of plastic dough with different moisture content, with the addition of grog and additives. Properties such as shape of Bigot curve, critical moisture value, size of drying shrinkage and drying sensitivity of the soil were monitored on the samples.
Methylene Blue Test for Plasticity Determination of Brick Clays
Jiroušek, Štěpán ; Stančík,, Hynek (referee) ; Sokolář, Radomír (advisor)
The Bachelor thesis is focused on methods for assesing the plasticity of ceramic raw materials (clays). The theoretical part describes the origin, species, chemical and mineralogical composition of these raw materials. Then we describe the preparations and standardized and nonstandardized methods of assesing the plasticity of clay used in the Czech Republic and abroad. The practical part describes executed tests of brick soils specimen used in the Czech Republic. The outcome of this work is to find correlations between these tests and the determined value of sorption of methylen blue.
Mineralizers Using in the Silica Materials Production Process
Maňák, Jan ; Sokolář, Radomír (referee) ; Nevřivová, Lenka (advisor)
Silica bricks is a refractory material whitch is used mainly in glass furnaces, coke oven bateries and hot blast stoves. Silica bricks constitute of the crystalline phases cristobalite, tridymite, glass phase and unconverted quartz. Content of these phases influences eventual properteis of silica bricks. This thesis deals with influence of the different kind of mineralizers, method of homogenization and length of firing on the content of these phases and eventual properties of silica bricks.
Characterization of brick clays for the production of THERM bricks
Svobodová, Markéta ; Stančík,, Hynek (referee) ; Sokolář, Radomír (advisor)
The Bachelor´s thesis is focused on the comparison of brick claysthat arecalcium and non-calcium and then it determines which of these brick clays are suitable for production of thin wall thermal insulating fittings called THERM. The main influence has CaO contained in the calcium brick clay in the form of calcite. In the theoretical part you can find an overview of the brick clays in the Czech Republic and abroad then requirements for clays and laboratory testing of bricks. In the practical part of the work were performed tests on samples of brick clays used in the Czech Republic. Mineralogical composition differenceis obviousafter firing the brick clays. This difference is caused by occurrence of anorthite calcium brick clay which then reflects in the usefulproperty of brick shard. Based on these tests I make evaluationof the most suitable type of brick clay for processing the THERM fittings.
Phosphate bond of foam filters and its influence on the technical properties
Langer, Jan ; Lang, Karel (referee) ; Sokolář, Radomír (advisor)
The theses deals with the preparation of phosphate binder. This binder provides not only high strength, but also high-heat resistance. The bond is made of acid phosphate and alumina. There should be substitute of alumina (Cr2O3) or the adition of its. The slurry was prepared according to the applicable procedures of Pyrotek. After this, the slurry was applied to the polyurethane foam, dried and kilned. The result is foam filter for aluminium casting.
Production and Examination of Foam Ceramic Filters
Ondrášek, Jan ; Sokolář, Radomír (referee) ; Nevřivová, Lenka (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to describe manufacture of the ceramic foam filters and its materials. Thesis includes description of manufacture of ceramic shard, properties of ceramic suspension and testing carried out not only on materials, but also on fired ceramic filter. Furthermore this thesis includes experimental part which includes evaluation of influence of viscosity on final firmness of the filter and its contraction by desiccation and firing.
