Sensitivity analysis of costs on power outages resulting from nonadherence of custom - tailored standards of the continuity of power supply
Polák, Jiří ; Skala, Petr (referee) ; Blažek, Vladimír (advisor)
The goal of the thesis is to describe the approaches used for the regulation of the continuous supply of electric power in the selected countries of European Union and to determine the power outages costs in the specific distribution network, resulting from non-observance of the customer standards used in Great Britain, Sweden and Finland. The costs have been calculated for the entire network, as well as for the individual outputs. The thesis carries out the sensitivity analysis of the power outages costs, resulting from the breaching the supply restoration standards and the multiple interruptions standard used in the Great Britain. The costs of the individual limits are shown in the tables and the graphs. The comparison of the individual outputs according to the height of the penalty costs have been carried out on the selected set of limits. The comparison of the order of the individual outputs is then carried out for the customer standards used in Great Britain, Sweden and Finland.
The End of the Coal Era - regeneration of the Karviná region after shutting down the coal mining industry and the future of the locality Karviná-Doly
Štecová, Dominika ; Polák, Jiří (referee) ; Kaftan, Martin (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the search for a suitable use of the post-industrial landscape and its relics. The country is being plundered after intensive mining, the removal of environmental burdens will take decades, and social and economic structures are being disrupted. The author of the diploma thesis tries to reflect on these problems and offer possible partial solutions.
Tests of motor operarators for low voltage circuit-breakers
Mlynář, Zdeněk ; Polák, Jiří (referee) ; Valenta, Jiří (advisor)
Nowadays increasing demands for energy, safe use and automation in modern systems. The last two mentioned areas can now be relatively easily done using low voltage circuit breakers, along with accessories. The main element is a motor operator of circuit breaker that can operate fully automatically. But that could be the motor operator together with a circuit breaker is sold, it is necessary to fulfill a number of requirements. This work deals with their summarization, partitioning and sequential treatment of individual tests that are necessary for motor operator or required by customers.
Reliability of Power Distribution Network
Polák, Jiří ; Belatka, Martin (referee) ; Špaček, Jaroslav (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to inform about ways of evaluation of distribution network reliabilities in the states of the European Union and in the Czech Republic and evaluation of reliability of particular distribution network and results of used methods. Therefore, there is at first an introduction to the reliability theory, basic terms and quantities from this field. After the introduction follows the explanation of using and calculating of the reliabilities in the electro-energetics and detailed description of methods used for their calculations. There is also a detailed explanation of the basis of reliability schemes and simulative methods. This part includes the evaluation of the reliability in the Czech Republic from the position of guaranteed standards of the continuousness electric energy delivery and the individual standards are introduced and explained here. The present situation in European Union is being shown in the summary of system and customer standards of electric power supply continuousness used in the specific countries. Distribution network reliability is evaluated with the use of so called box graphs and methods for evaluation of reliabilities by giving the expenditures of probable undelivered energy and expenditures of crossing limit of the total time of interruption penalization. The box graphs method shows evaluation of the whole network and individual areas of the network from the view of number of year interruptions and the total amount of the time of all interruptions. The evaluation of the remaining two expenditure methods includes not only comparison of the whole network, but also comparison of the individual outputs of the network and their arrangement according to the height of expenditures. The comparison of the used method results is made in the thesis conclusion.
The End of the Coal Era - regeneration of the Karviná region after shutting down the coal mining industry and the future of the locality Karviná-Doly
Šutvajová, Zuzana ; Polák, Jiří (referee) ; Kaftan, Martin (advisor)
The era of mining non-renewable resources in the Karviná region is slowly coming to an end. The coal, which gave the region its specific character and life, is slowly becoming a history. The issue of land recovery after the end of mining has many aspects. In addition to the regeneration of brownfields of mining companies, it also entails ecological revitalization of the area, economic and sociological aspects. Mining has been part of the culture and history of these regions for many years, so we need to be sensitive to this regional industrial identity and find a way to sustainability and ecology in the context of landscape transformation. In the project, students will focus on the area of the St. Peter's Church of Alkantara “leaning church”. The leaning church is one of the last historical footprints left by the original town of Karvinná, which disappeared due to the undermining and subsequent landslides of the land. Today the church together with the Barbora and Gabriela mines defines an area that has lived for many years- mainly due to coal mining, which eventually destroyed it. This unique place, where nature gradually overlaps the traces of mining activity from the past, hides a number of new ecosystems and untapped potential. It the thesis, the research of possible strategies for the restoration of such an area will be made, which results will be applied to specific urban and architectural solutions. The solutions should bring a new drive for an upcoming development and innovation, while preserving the region's industrial history and bringing it to a general public.

Process Optimization of the Czech Branch of the International Company
Polák, Jiří ; Chlapek, Dušan (advisor) ; Bruckner, Tomáš (referee)
The process management is the main topic of this thesis. In the beginning there is a description of the expressions related to the process management and improving of the company processes. The thesis is mostly oriented on the methodology of the potential of the process improvement. Anyway there are other methods and methodologies described in the thesis because they can be useful in further process improving. The second part is all about processes of small company. This company is introduced to the reader. There is description of the strategic goals and organizational structure. Next chapter describes process areas of the company. The priority and owners are connected to the areas. The chosen areas are described more in details and key activities are defined. The monitoring of the key activities of the most important process area resulted into analysis of the benefits of achieving the target state. In the last part there is description of activities and projects that shall remove the limits for achieving the goal. For all projects there is suggested implementation plan.
