Services in mutual contigency
Prouza, Petr ; Řepa, Václav (advisor) ; Pálka, Jan (referee)
This thesis is focused on services in informatics, especially their global concept and mutual contingency. In this issue there is one main aim but there can be found more minor goals without as high importance as main one. The particular goals are specification of different dimensions of view on informatics services, analysis of standards dealing with services in aim to find mutual contingency, creation of global model of service, definition of global sense and functionality of services and clarifying the look on the services in organizations. If this look is broader one or only technical solution of informatics is taken into account (the broad context is connected with processes and business). In the first part of my thesis the dimensions of different views on issue of services in informatics are specified. It includes the overlapping of these dimensions according to read literature and other internet sources. The second part of my work is about analyzing of standards in information services provided in services orientated architecture and standards dealing with governance of services in informatics. Next chapter involves the global model of service created on basis of previous analysis and the knowledge from read literature. The fourth chapter is focused on definition of the global sense and functionality of services. The last part of my thesis summarized the most common problems which can occur during introduction of services. The last chapter contains the case study in which the importance of understanding of services in their broad context is mentioned and revealed.
Examination of an organization's process maturity
Havlín, Petr ; Řepa, Václav (advisor) ; Pálka, Jan (referee)
This diploma thesis is dedicated to the examination of maturity levels of the rescue service of the central bohemian region. Furthermore to using the results of the examination to formulate recomandations in order to ease possible effort of the management to introduce approaches of the process management into the organization. Levels of maturity are examined by the factors identified by Mike Hammer in his PEMM (Process and Enterprise Maturity Model) model. Whole document is logically divided into four parts. The first part consists of detail description of the organization from three different angles. Purpose of the organization, strategic goals of the management and the organizational structure. Second part includes global and detail business process models created by the MMABP (Methodology for Modelling and Analysis of Business Process) by prof. Ing. Václav Řepa Csc. The models are created in the BPMN (Business Process Modelling Notation) and Eriksson-Penker notation. There are also included process interfaces and object lifecycles in the second part. Third part is where the comparison of described reality and the PEMM model factors of maturity is being made. All the maturity levels of the factors are argumented here as well. In the last part of this document, there is a presentation of the recomandations concluded from the previous comparison.
Process model of manufacturing company
Kuběna, Lubomír ; Řepa, Václav (advisor) ; Pálka, Jan (referee)
This thesis deals with process modeling respectively application specific modeling methodology developed by prof. Ing. Václav Řepa Csc. for the selected company active in manufacturing. The main objective and part of the thesis forms creation of process model. It's preceded by introductory description of the selected company and its global long-term goals set by management, SWOT analysis revealing strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, on the basis of which is elaborated a strategy to exploit opportunities for the development of strengths. Before analyzing the processes and the design of process model Balanced Scorecard analysis is realized. Within its four perspectives, I propose and summarize the identified targets, along with their metrics, current and desired state. Further it's followed by process analysis and elaboration of process models to global (Eriksson-Penker model) and detailed (BPMN notation) level. Models have added the descriptive tables and description and main points of the design are summarized in the end. The main objective of work is followed by others, represented by the comparison of designed model and current situation in company, where is implemented quality management system ISO 9001:2000 (comparing similarities and differences, problems of quality system, etc.) and assessment of enviromental maturity of the company and its functioning from process perspective, using the knowledge model Michael Hammer PEMM (Process & Enterprise Maturity Model). Information obtained from the analysis and designs are put into context with each other to ensure consistency of whole design and my thesis and summarized in Chapter Conclusion.
Business Activity Monitoring
Frühauf, Michal ; Řepa, Václav (advisor) ; Pálka, Jan (referee)
Main focus of the thesis lies in the corporate management decision support deploying and using IT / ICT. Specific technology described is Business Activity Monitoring. The contribution of the work lies primarily in two planes. The first plane is to create as far as the most comprehensive view of the BAM. The findings are collected from different directions and areas. The first direction of research is focused on the development of Business Intelligence and description of BAM as a trend of BI, including the stages of development and projections into the future. The second direction focuses primarily on a detailed circumscribe of BAM. Its definition, deployment assumptions, basic models, the way how business can benefit from BAM usage. The third guideline shows the classification of BAM surrounded by the other / similar technologies and business solutions -- BI and BSM, and the search key differences. The second level of the work is to support the AML implementation in a specific environment of banks using BAM. This is a practical demonstration of the possibility of using BAM in practice. Basic design solution lies in the analysis of risks arising from the law and the current state of the solution. By mapping of banking processes and searching for points of risk it is then possible to deploy these risks BAM tools for their management. Motion of support lies mainly in conceptual terms.
Modeling business processes
Skala, Jakub ; Řepa, Václav (advisor) ; Pálka, Jan (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the theme of Modeling business processes with orientation to the metric process interface. The aim of the thesis is to design the architecture of metric, which enabled to construct type metrics of the process interface. Firstly, the reader is informed about the basic terms related to process modeling, process management and connection of strategy with metrics. The next part describes the architecture of metrics created, which is oriented to supporting the process management of the organization. The set of type metrics was chosen with consideration to the possibility of their placement on process interface. The set created in this manner should help to connect strategy with processes when implementing into organization. The last part of the thesis describes the practical application of knowledge obtained in the PARMA project. This project deals with the proposal and implementation of the process management into the Bureau of the Municipality of Prague 10. The thesis deals with two processes and the conclusions obtained in the theoretic part of the thesis are applied herein.
Relationship between CASE tools and integrated development environments
Lacina, Martin ; Smolík, Jan (advisor) ; Pálka, Jan (referee)
This bachelor thesis concentrates on relationship between CASE tools and integrated development environments. In the center of concern are CASE tools which support UML notation and automatic generation of source code from UML diagrams to Java object oriented programming language. This bachelor thesis is divided into two parts. First part concentrates on basic introduction to theory of CASE tools. There we also discuss the utilization of CASE tools in various parts of project, which dealt with creation of information system. In first part is also proposed simplification of projects life cycle to meet creation of simple programs. Theoretical part of thesis continues with brief explanation of object oriented approach and brief description of Java object oriented programming language. The fist part of thesis is ended by brief introduction to UML and there is also description of most important diagrams, which are basis used to generate program code. Second part of this bachelor thesis is concentrated on comparison of several UML CASE tools, which are free for non - commercial use. The comparison is realized through simple exemplary program, which is worked up in each CASE tool. The solution contains basic UML diagrams created in each CASE tool and also generating of source code from these diagrams. In this thesis is also presentation of each CASE tool's reverse engineering and round -- trip engineering support In the epilogue of this bachelor thesis is summary of contribution of using CASE tools to help realize simple programs.
