Legal and Economic Aspects of the Entry of the Czech Republic into the Euro Area
Žáček, Ondřej ; Vybíral, Roman (referee)
Legal and Economic Aspects of the Entry of the Czech Republic into the Euro Area Abstract The thesis answers a number of questions related to the entry of the Czech Republic into the euro area. The basic premise is that joining the euro area does not consist only in changing of the national currency, but it must be perceived more comprehensively as a transition to the third stage of the Economic and Monetary Union which has been undergoing dynamic development at the institutional level. The main conclusions of the thesis are as follows. The traditional Maastricht convergence criteria, as they are explicitly formulated in primary law, cannot be regarded as the sole conditions for entry into the euro area. Non-legal aspects are also relevant when the fulfilment of these criteria is assessed by the European Commission and the European Central Bank. In addition, several new institutions such as the Banking Union or the European Stability Mechanism have been established in the euro area, but are not taken into account by the Maastricht convergence criteria. This also confirms that entry into the euro area cannot be reduced to a mere change of the national currency. Another important conclusion is that entering the ERM II exchange rate mechanism, which is necessary to meet one of the convergence criteria, is not...
Investment asset management comparable to fund management
Pivko, Petr ; Vybíral, Roman (referee)
4 Investment asset management comparable to fund management Abstract This thesis concerns the analysis of the legal regulation of the functioning of mini-funds, or persons according to Section 15 of Act No. 240/2013 Coll., on Investment Companies and Investment Funds. These are entities that can manage investment assets without requiring the relevant public authorisation granted by the Czech National Bank. The essence of their existence is the fact that they fulfil some of the characteristics of investment funds, although they are not investment funds. The popularity of the use of this institute in the context of collective investment escalated during the pandemic of the Covid-19 disease. In my thesis I analyse the rights and obligations linked with this management, the legal relations towards investors and also towards the Czech National Bank. The thesis consists of several parts, namely an introduction of the European legislation on which the Czech legislation is based, and the most important part, both in terms of its scope and significance, containing a description and analysis of the Czech legislation. The thesis also includes research on the domestic mini-fund market, where data representing a part of the market are presented and provide insight into, for example, how much assets mini-funds represent...
Comparison of platelet aggregation in healthy population.
Minarovičová, Júlia ; Mladěnka, Přemysl (advisor) ; Hofman, Jakub (referee)
Charles University Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology Student: Júlia Minarovičová Supervisor: prof. Přemysl Mladěnka, Pharm.D., Ph.D. Title of diploma thesis: Comparison of platelet aggregation in healthy population Platelets have an irreplaceable role in the process of aggregation. Nevertheless, their increased activity is associated with the development of many cardiovascular diseases. This process can be influenced by clinical used substances from the group of antiplatelet drugs, which differ in their effectiveness within the population. Within this study, platelet aggregation was tested using impedance aggregometry, whose principle is the change in electrical impedance between electrodes caused by the adhesion of activated platelets. Firstly, whole blood was incubated with clinically used antiplatelet drugs (ticagrelor, vorapaxar, and acetylsalicylic acid) and a flavonoid metabolite, 4-methylcatechol. Subsequently, a platelet aggregation inducer (ADP, thrombin receptor activating peptide 6 /TRAP/, collagen, arachidonic acid, ristocetin, U-46619, and platelet-activating factor /PAF/) was added, and the process was monitored for 6 minutes. The most potent inhibitor of the aggregation induced by arachidonic acid was acetylsalicylic acid in a concentration of 70 μM...
The criminal law instruments against organized crime
Šmejc, Marek ; Jelínek, Jiří (advisor) ; Šelleng, Dalibor (referee)
78 The Means of Criminal Law Dealing With Organized Crime Abstract The rigorous thesis explores the phenomenon of organized crime, examining it from criminological, criminal law, and historical perspectives in the introduction. Within the initial pages, the thesis delves into the concept of organized crime, considering various expert opinions. However, attempts to conceptually or empirically capture the phenomenon face numerous challenges due to its complexity and diverse forms. The thesis consistently emphasizes the importance of the topic, stemming from the serious threat to public interest posed by organized crime and ongoing international and national debates on the need to improve tools to combat it. The author also examines the current legal regulations, both domestic and international. The conclusion of the second chapter particularly focuses on the criminal offense of participation in an organized criminal group. Another chapter is dedicated to categorizing tools to combat organized crime into legal, institutional, and political categories. The author then delves into selected criminal law tools to combat organized crime, focusing on some of the most problematic instruments, where skepticism among certain experts is often justified. These controversial institutions of criminal procedural law,...
Investigation of the dynamics of the deformation processes in Mg-RE alloys using in-situ experimental methods
Farkas, Andrea ; Mathis, Kristián (advisor)
In this present work, the dynamics of deformation mechanisms activated in binary magnesium-gadolinium alloys with respect to amount of Gd were investigated with in-situ experimental methods. Cast alloys are characterized by random texture. Compression test were done at room temperature with simultaneous record of acoustic emission response. The acoustic emission signal was subsequently analysed using advanced clustering method providing information about the dominant deformation mechanisms. High speed camera was used to study the dynamics of twinning, including estimation of the velocity of twin propagation with respect to Gd concentration. The deformation tests were repeated in a chamber of scanning electron microscope (in-situ SEM) with concurrent following the microstructure development using secondary electrons and electron back-scattered diffraction (EBSD) in different stages of the deformation. Main goal of this measurements was to identify active slip systems and the progress of twin volume fraction during deformation. Keywords: magnesium alloy, deformation tests, acoustic emission, high-speed camera, electron microscopy, twinning
Lenin's open public Information and its realization in Czechoslovak Radio (1987-1989)
Vlček, Tomáš ; Štoll, Martin (advisor) ; Knapík, Jiří (referee)
The conceptual framework of reconstruction of the economic mechanism and its application in the Czechoslovak Radio (1987 - 1989) Abstract The task of mass media during the period 1986 - 1989 was to help the implementation of přestavba (reconstruction of the economic mechanism) so that people correctly understood its goals, accepted them as their own, and actively participated in their fulfillment. Therefore, in October 1987, the top management of KSČ approved a binding directive regulating the activities of the mass media under the title Lenin's principle of open information to the public through the press, radio and television, regulating the activities of the mass media. The author of the work examined the available archival documents using the method of qualitative analysis, he used oral history procedures in interviews with the then workers of the Czechoslovak radio. Using the examples of each of the 12 measures contained in this directive, he found out how the radio management implemented it and then compared the obtained results with the memories of the radio employees interviewed. All this in order to find out the form of přestavba in one of the central mass media. Despite the wording of the official materials, containing parts of proclamatory texts and period rhetoric, which the author purposefully...
Individualization in music education in heterogeneous classroom at the first level of primary school with regard to current trends in education
Růžičková, Veronika
This dissertation thesis deals with individualization in music education in a heterogeneous class- room at the first level of primary school. The theoretical part focuses on the turnaround in edu- cation that occurred with the advent of reform pedagogy, bringing about efforts to change teaching, differentiation of studentsand curriculum, individualization of learning, and specialed- ucation projects. The text organizes the findings of general pedagogy, which are followed by the principles and suggestions of the disciplinary didactics concerning the teaching of music educa- tion. At the same time, the specifics that distinguish music education from other subjects and influence the feasibility of individualization or the choice of appropriate methods are presented. The chronological arrangement of the findings from the general and disciplinary didactics is completed with a description of the situation in the present school. This is characterised by the 'diverse classroom', in which pupils with different talents, from different family back- grounds, with different attitudes to education, music and culture, or speaking different mother tongues learn together. The elaboration of the topic takes into account the current trends in education (formulated in the Strategy for Education Policy of the Czech...
Czechoslovak newsreels from the perspective of social transformation (1989-1990)
Černý, Ondřej ; Lokšík, Martin (advisor) ; Moravec, Václav (referee)
This thesis deals with the end of film news in Czechoslovakia, which was realized in the form of film weekly newsreels until 1990. In the first part I define film news from the theoretical and terminological point of view and try to describe its specifics. I then explain its birth and the production of newsreel films on our country's territory, from its beginnings before the First World War until the fall of the communist regime in Czechoslovakia and the establishment of democracy, which ended the continuous, state- subsidized and controlled production of regularly published weeklies. In the second, practical part, I use the method of qualitative content analysis to examine the form and thematic framework of the weekly newsreels produced in 1989, when a new concept of film reporting focused on the so-called magazines began to take effect, and in 1990, the year Czechoslovakia entered the democratic process. My aim is to find out what was the role of weekly newsreels as a means of socialist propaganda and a channel of social criticism in the first, revolutionary year and how they changed in the second, democratic year. Although they were no longer bound by ideology, the end of the state film monopoly brought an end to their financial support and power protection, which led to an early end of their...
Running in the context of developmental kinesiology
Růžek, Ondřej ; Bačáková, Radka (advisor) ; Pokorný, Jan (referee)
Title: Running in the context of developmental kinesiology Objective: The objective of this diploma thesis was to describe the running gait in the context of human developmental ontogenesis. From information sources working with the topic of developmental kinesiology, a comprehensive text was prepared on the influence of establishing posture on the subsequent development of locomotion patterns of walking and running. Methods: The compilation method was used in this work. Relevant peer-reviewed articles were drawn upon to identify current information on running kinesiology for subsequent interdisciplinary comparison of approaches to the definition and description of the running stride cycle. Results: In the thesis, it was repeatedly emphasized that reaching the float phase in a running gait is a genetically conditioned in a person's life. The thesis that the central control of postural-locomotor function is already engaged in the first year of life thanks to genetically encoded programs. In parallel with how the musculoskeletal system strengthens during the first year of life with the aim of overcoming gravity and achieving bipedality, the strength of functional control at the level of the CNS. Key words: step cycle of running, running, locomotion, posture, kinesiology of running
Emotions and aesthetic preferences evoked by animals in the context of nature conservation
Janovcová, Markéta
People have always seen animals as an important part of their lives. As a result of human activity and other factors, an increasing number of species are becoming endangered. Recently, nature conservation has become increasingly important, but conservation activities cannot do without public support, not only financial. For this reason, it is necessary to understand how people perceive animals and what implications this may have for planning conservation programmes. In this paper, we focused on positive perceptions of animals ascertained through aesthetic preferences (the beauty of the animal) and negative perception through emotions (fear and disgust). It was found that the beauty of the animal and attributed dangerousness have a decisive influence on the support of conservation activities in the preferred group of mammals, while body size and attributed intelligence do not. In contrast, reptiles are an often neglected group of vertebrates, yet they are perceived by humans quite consistently. Humans distinguish reptiles on the basis of external appearance, namely the presence of limbs. Thus, there is a separate group of legless reptiles represented mainly by snakes and legless lizards (e.g. Amphisbaenia), which have their own rules for evaluating beauty and emotions. As it was found in the...
