Expressed sex ratio in populations of the moss Hamatocaulis vernicosus (Scorpidiaceae) in the Czech Republic with consideration of its cryptic species.
MANUKJANOVÁ, Alžběta
This thesis aims at sex expression and sex ratio in cryptic species of a rare fen moss Hamatocaulis vernicosus. The sex expression and expressed sex ratio were compared at various hierarchical levels. Additionally, micromaps of expressed sex ratio in patches at 21 localities, including 5 localities where both clades co-occur have been created.
Benigní helmint Hymenolepis diminuta pozitivně ovlivňuje chemicky vyvolanou kolitidu u potkaního modelu
LEVÁ, Jana
In this study is examined the protective effect of different life cycles stages of rat tapeworm Hymenolepis diminuta against dinitrobenzene sulphonic acid (DNBS) induced colitis in rat model. The clinical health of rats, gut microbiota and systemic inflammation was analysed. For determination of the level of inflammation and type 2 immune response of rat model was used relative gene expression of TNF, IL-1, IL-4, IL-13 and IL-10 using real-time PCR. Our results showed that colonization by immature life stages of H. diminuta before the induction of DNBS colitis reduced clinical symptoms and inflammation in rat model but did not protect rats against colitis. Type 2 immune response was detected by an increase in gene expression of IL-4, IL-10 and IL-13. The gut microbiota does not substantial role in H. diminuta-mediated protection.
Stochastic Programming Problems in Asset-Liability Management
Rusý, Tomáš ; Kopa, Miloš (advisor)
The main objective of this thesis is to build a multi-stage stochastic pro- gram within an asset-liability management problem of a leasing company. At the beginning, the business model of such a company is introduced and the stochastic programming formulation is derived. Thereafter, three various risk constraints, namely the chance constraint, the Value-at-Risk constraint and the conditional Value-at-Risk constraint along with the second-order stochastic dominance constraint are applied to the model to control for riski- ness of the optimal strategy. Their properties and their effects on the optimal decisions are thoroughly investigated, while various risk limits are considered. In order to obtain solutions of the problems, random elements in the model formulation had to be approximated by scenarios. The Hull - White model calibrated by a newly proposed method based on maximum likelihood esti- mation has been used to generate scenarios of future interest rates. In the end, the performances of the optimal solutions of the problems for unconsid- ered and unfavourable crisis scenarios were inspected. The used methodology of such a stress test has not yet been implemented in stochastic programming problems within an asset-liability management. 1
Inequalities for discrete and continuous supremum operators
Oľhava, Rastislav ; Pick, Luboš (advisor) ; Nekvinda, Aleš (referee)
Inequalities for discrete and continuous supremum operators Rastislav O , lhava In this thesis we study continuous and discrete supremum operators. In the first part we investigate general properties of Hardy-type operators involving suprema. The boundedness of supremum operators is used for characterization of interpo- lation spaces between two Marcinkiewicz spaces. In the second part we provide equivalent conditions for boundedness of supremum operators in the situation when the domain space in one of the classical Lorentz spaces Λp w1 or Γp w1 and the target space Λq w2 or Γq w2 . In the case p ≤ q we use inserting technique obtaining continuous conditions. In the setting of coefficients p > q we provide only partial results obtaining discrete conditions using discretization method. In the third part we deal with a three-weight inequality for an iterated discrete Hardy-type operator. We find its characterization which enables us to reduce the problematic case when the domain space is a weighted ℓp with p ∈ (0, 1) into the one with p = 1. This leads to a continuous analogue of investigated discrete inequality. The work consists of author's published and unpublished results along with material appearing in the literature.
International Child Abductions
Karetová, Barbora ; Bříza, Petr (referee)
International Child Abductions Abstract in English This dissertation thesis deals with the issue of International Child Abductions, which is a constantly growing phenomenon. The focus of the legal regulation of international abductions lies within the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction (hereinafter referred to as the 1980 Convention), which was adopted on 25 October 1980. There are already 98 signatory States of the Convention. This fact makes the Convention, at least in terms of the number of signatory states, one of the most successful international treaties at all. In spite of the nearly forty years of this Convention, there are still uncertainties in interpretation of certain terms during its application. The introductory part of this work deals mainly with questions of interpretation of basic concepts such as habitual residence or the right to care for a child, as well as the interpretation of individual exemptions from the obligation to return the child to the state of his habitual residence without delay. This section analyzes in particular the case law of the United Kingdom and United States courts, which account for nearly 50 % of all international abductions. Recently, there has been discussion among academics and other professional on the decision- making...
Decision-making by the statutory body in the relation to the capital company's internal affairs
Tomášek, Petr ; Josková, Lucie (referee)
Decision-making by the statutory body in the relation to the capital company's internal affairs Abstract This dissertation considers the issue of decision-making by the statutory body in relation to the internal affairs of a capital company. The second chapter analyses existing case law concerning the concept of business management and compares it with doctrinal sources. In this context, business management is distinguished from other areas of responsibility the statutory body has in relation to the company's internal affairs. It also assesses to what extent the designation of business management as an internal branch of power is truly appropriate. The subsequent chapter discusses the competencies of the general meeting which directly affect the area of making business decisions; namely the amendment of articles of association, the approval of substantial property transactions and the power of general meeting to lay down the basic principles of how the business is managed. The fourth chapter is about the boundaries arising from the very notion of business management as compared to doctrinal sources and the practice of the courts. It draws conclusions from own research as well. In the fifth part of the dissertation, the process of decision-making in regard to business management is analysed. In particular it...
Private law instruments of environmental protection
Vévoda, Jan ; Derlich, Stanislav (referee)
Private law instruments of environmental protection Abstract Private law deals primarily with the regulation of relations between individuals and the protection of their individual rights, whether personal or property. The aim of this dissertation is therefore to determine whether and how the instruments of private law can be used to protect the environment. For this purpose, an analysis of the relevant private law institutes has been carried out, such as the protection of the personality, neighbourhood law, and the prevention and compensation of damage, which are the most important means of protecting the rights of an individual. Protection of personality in private law is primarily designed to protect the life, health and privacy, but it is useful to indirectly protect the environment from the effects that these values threaten, as shown by extensive decision-making practice of the European Court of Human Rights. The right to live in a favourable environment is a new institute in Czech civil law, which could have a great potential for environmental protection purposes, but it still lacks a more detailed regulation and there is also no case law. Neighbourhood law serves to protect the real estate owners against the disruptive effects of the activities of their neighbours. These are referred to as imissions...
Synthesis of cyclodextrin derivatives for organocatalysis
Chena Tichá, Iveta
Synthesis of cyclodextrin derivatives for organocatalysis This doctoral thesis examines the preparation of new cyclodextrin (CD) derivatives suitable for organocatalysis. The aim of this work is to prepare monosubstituted and disubstituted CD derivatives as organocatalysts for different types of enantioselective reactions potentially performed in water. In addition, disubstituted CD derivatives require considering the potential mixture of regioisomers and pseudoenantiomers. Thus, this thesis is divided into several sections - preparation of CD precursors and derivatives for organocatalysis, preparation of pure regioisomers and pseudoenantiomers of disubstituted CDs and final application of CD derivatives in enantioselective reactions. Furthermore, this thesis also focuses on the molecular modeling of the prepared CD derivatives and on their catalytic activity in silico. The first section covers the preparation of new disubstituted CD precursors as pure regioisomers for organocatalysts, specifically to develop a new method for the preparation of heterodisubstituted AC regioisomers on the primary rim of α-CD. This section also includes the determination of the regioisomer ratios of common α-CD intermediates disubstituted on the primary rim to evaluate their potential as precursors in organocatalysis....
Responsibility of a State in International Public Law
Botlóová, Kristína ; Faix, Martin (referee)
Responsibility of a State in International Public Law Abstract The thesis deals with the history of the responsibility of states in international law, it describes the actions of the UN Security Council in this area. The thesis also focuses on the rules of the existence of international responsibility and their implementation. It describes the relationship between the contractual law and the law of state responsibility, the circumstances excluding wrongfulness, namely vis maior, distress, justification, excuse, error. The thesis also explores the overstepping of competence and the relation of this institute to the responsibility of states in international law. The works of the UN International Law Comission in the area of the responsibility of states for other than unlawful conduct are also among the topics of the thesis. Other phenomena described in this paper are reparation, compensation and responsibility of states in the international law in the context of conduct of individual persons. We also present an overview of the legal frame of the state responsibility and the migrant smuggling, law of responsibility at the open sea, space law and responsibility of states and intelligence gathering. An important insight is dedicated to the question of the state succession into the responsibility for...
Lease Of Commercial Premises
Ludvíková, Barbora ; Salač, Josef (advisor) ; Thöndel, Alexandr (referee)
This thesis aims to analyse the applicable legal regulation of lease of commercial premises pursuant to the Act no. 89/2012 Coll., Civil code, as amended, in the context of general practice and with focus on material improvements of leased property. This thesis is divided into 11 chapters, each dealing with different aspects of the examined legal institute. The first two chapters are introductory and pertain to lease in general. The first chapter focuses on the evolution of lease throughout history, spanning from roman law to modern legal codes. The second chapter characterises lease as an obligation in general as it reports on placement of the relevant provisions within the civil code and on the characteristics of lease, which include its subject, yielding it to another for use, its temporariness and consideration. The third chapter deals with the subject of the lease, i.e. commercial premises and their administration in cases of co-ownership and community property of spouses. The following chapter deals with the creation of lease and explores the requirements for a valid and legally binding lease agreement. The fifth chapter considers the temporariness of lease, leases concluded both for indefinite and for definite period of time, leases concluded for an uncommonly long time period and...
