Mental health care as a specific tourism product
BÍLKOVÁ, Hana
The goal of this bachelor's thesis is an in-depth analysis in the field of wellness, the identification of main trends and customer preferences, the second goal is to propose the possibility of developing "active" care for mental balance as a new tourism product. Several research methods are used in the thesis. It is an analysis of the offer of travel agencies and accommodation facilities, field research in wellness facilities in Barcelona, Prague and Frymburk near the Lipno dam, two semi-structured interviews, namely with the owner of the Wellness Hotel Frymburk and with a philosopher, lecturer of personal development seminars and organizer of trips to Asia. Structured interviews were also held with participants of wellness facilities in Barcelona, Prague and Frymburk, and moreover I took part in seminars on the researched issue in Basel, Switzerland and in Prague, led by world-renowned experts in the field of mental care. It was found that not all components of a person's wellness are taken care of in wellness facilities, but care is largely focused on the physical aspect, while the mental, spiritual and social components are neglected. The research also showed that the investigated facilities mostly do not offer products influenced by the latest trends in the field of wellness, which are precisely the shift of attention from the care of the body perceived as a "mechanical machine" to the subtler system of the body and its internal thought and emotional processes. The research was conducted on randomly selected respondents in wellness facilities, while analyzing the offer, a wide range of Czech and other European wellness businesses were examined. In the final part, the modification of specified existing wellness facilities by adding spaces for mental care, the economic impact of the proposal including a simplified cost budget and marketing support were proposed.
