The development of the gender division of household work depending on socio-economic factors

This thesis examines the development of perceptions of the gender division of labour in the household according to socio-economic factors.. The aim of the thesis is to examine how socio-economic factors in the Czech Republic influence the position and role of women in the household and how they affect the division of household labour between partners. The theoretical part is devoted first to the definition of the basic concepts of gender, gender roles and stereotypes and inequalities, then to the division of labour in the household and the factors that influence this division of labour and finally to the development of the division of domestic labour between partners since the 1960s-1970s in Czechoslovakia. The method used is secondary data analysis in the SPSS program, where bivariate (bivariate) analysis and binary logistic regression are used for data analysis. The results of the analysis show that there has been a shift towards a more equal sharing of household labour between 2013 and 2022, but it cannot be confirmed with certainty that the shift between 2020 and 2022 was influenced by the Covid 19 pandemic.
