Proposal for the Production Process Improvement
Chvátal, Štěpán ; Bartošek, Vladimír (referee) ; Videcká, Zdeňka (advisor)
This thesis deals with the optimization of production processes in a small manufacturing company engaged in the production of pumps and the determination of a new cost structure and work performance. Altogether, there are five proposals for optimizing the manufacturing and warehousing processes in the company. I have used EPC diagrams to describe the processes. Then, I used a qualitative data collection method to determine the duration of each operation for almost all workers in the firm and a quantitative data collection method from the information system for all workers to determine the ratio of overhead operations to total work output time. A suggestion for optimizing the storage and retrieval process plus the lack of space for product storage is to purchase new storage racks and new lifting equipment for the company. To enable more detailed tracking of work performance, I have created a new labor reporting structure. I have created a new cost structure to sort the invoices received. As a result of my work, all the proposed measures have been successfully implemented in the company.
