Cognitive profile in patients with atrial fibrillation

The bachelor thesis deals with the profile of patients' cognitive functions with atrial fibrillation. The first section of the theoretical part is concerned with the associations between atrial fibrillation (AF) and cognitive disorders, physiological causes standing in their backround and the development risk factors of cognitive deficits of patients suffering from AF. Next, there comes the description of problematic cognitive impairment diagnosis in population of these patients. It presents the research results showing the distribution of cognitive deficit in individual cognitive domains. In terms of monitored variables in the research, it also briefly informs about connection between the affective domains and cognition at patients diagnosed with AF. In the final part, there are submitted treatment possibilities of cognitive deficits at patients with AF, which mainly represent prevention and cardiovascular illnesses therapy. In the empirical part of the thesis, there are compared cognitive functions in the group of patients with AF to the comparative group based on the control of the number of depressive and anxiety symptoms.
