Options to Assist in the Incidience of Selected Social Pathological Phenomena in the Family
ŠAFRÁNKOVÁ, Lenka
This bachelor thesis deals with the occurrence of pathological phenomena within families. The main aim of this thesis is to map institutions in the city of České Budějovice which the families with children with socially pathological phenomena can approach in order to obtain assistance. The secondary aim is to present the means of assistance these institutions have to offer. The research questions were what devices can be of help to such families, how the means and procedures are perceived by the employees of such institutions and with which pathological phenomena such families approach the institutions. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is focused on defining the basic terms and explaining risk behavior and its causes. The thesis further defines terms such as family and functions of family, social service and other related terms. The terms social service, its usage and its dividing are also defined. For this research the qualitative research strategy, method of questioning and technique of half structured interview were chosen. Firstly, suitable institutions in České Budějovice were mapped with the secondary data analysis method. The interviews were conducted with social workers from certain institutions in České Budějovice where support to such families is offered. The research group consisted of six social workers offering social counseling and other social services which are dedicated to families with children. It is obvious, based on the practical part, that the number of such institutions in České Budějovice is high and the workers believe that the help is sufficient. The contribution of this thesis is that it presents an overview of social services families are offered and a better conception of the social work in general.
