The theoretical part is focused on development of nursing in its history, role and personality of the nurse, her cooperation with a doctor, professional association of nurses, registration of nurses and related lifelong education. The research is made up by a quantitative study which is concerned with a viewing of nurses on prestige of nursing profession and by opinion what could help the profession in the society. The research was done with nurses with a different types of finished education, working on a different job positions.
