Matter of Totalitarism in Hannah Arendt's Works

The aim of the bachelor's thesis as well as its primary source is the book The O, igins of Totalitarianism by a German philosopher and political thinker Hannah Arendt. The thesis deals with questions of Nazism and Stalinism as two main totalitarian regimes of the fírst half of the 20,h century. It compares their historical and ideological basis, their évolution and detailed structure. It also deals with historical-political events that enabled their rise on the political scene. In terms of their similarities it describes the main characteristics of totalitarianism and at the same time it tries to give an overall insight into this political phenomena as well as the possibility of its application within contemporary and future social and political situation.
