This master's thesis deals with an analysis of the brewing industry in the Czech Republic. The main aim of this thesis is to evaluate the attractiveness of the sector and to develop suggestions and recommendations for enterprises considering entering the researched sector and for companies already operating in the brewing industry. Recommendations for potential new entrants derive from an evaluation of industry attractiveness, and proposals for current breweries stem from an assessment of opportunities and threats detected during an analysis of the macro-environment, the micro-environment and an analysis of the industry's driving forces. The key method applied in this thesis for analyzing the external environment is Porter's model of five competitive forces. Other methodological approaches include the PEST analysis, identification of the industry's dominant economic features, strategic group analysis, determination of the main driving forces and evaluation of industry attractiveness. Presented approaches are described in the theoretical part, while the practical part focuses on their application to the Czech brewing industry.
