Analysis and validation of a method for measuring blood flow in vascular prosthesis using triboelectric materials

This diploma thesis focuses on the issue of triboelectric nanogenerators (TENG) and the possibility of using them as sources of energy obtained by the movements of a vascular prosthesis, and thus analyzing blood flow through a vascular prosthesis. The first part of the thesis is devoted to literature research in the areas of the cardiovascular system. Furthermore, the thesis deals with the issue of vascular replacements, analyzes various types and production of vascular prostheses and examines the possibilities of integrating triboelectric generators on these prostheses. It also addresses the issue of material compatibility and optimization of the connection between the vascular prosthesis and the TENG for efficient energy harvesting. The work focuses on the methods of electrical characterization of TENG implants, including approaches to measure the generated current and voltage. Different types of these contacts and their electrical properties are discussed. In the practical part of the work, types of triboelectric nanogenerators are designed and created. The electrical responses of individual triboelectric nanogenerators applied to vascular prostheses to various types of stimulation are shown and illustrated.
Preparation and optimization of electrospun materials suitable as electricity generators

This master's thesis is focused on energy harvesting and is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part of the thesis contains the dielectric parameters, the meaning of the piezoelectric and triboelectric effect and the principles of electric energy gain in energy havesting. The last chapter of the theoretical part is devoted to various electrospun materials suitable for energy harvesting. The practical part of the work deals with nanofibers as an energy generator and describes their dielectric parameters. In this part the relative permittivity and loss factor of selected types of nanofibers are measured. Also the triboelectric nanogenerator is made and it's properties are measured.
