Rules in Kindergarten

The thesis is specifically concerned with rules at preschool. The work consists of a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part is divided into five main sections: definitions, rules, rewards and punishments, Montessori Pedagogy, and Waldorf Pedagogy. It describes how the rules are established and what areas they apply to, as well as daily routines, rules violation, natural consequences, and others. A historical perspective is also adopted. The practical part comprises qualitative research questions i.e. an interview with eleven teachers from different preschools. The aim of the research is to map the current state of rules in kindergartens, to identify the rules considered significantly important for teachers, and to assess their effectiveness in the preschool educational process.
Rules in the kindergarten and work with them

The bachelor's thesis focuses on the organization of rules in kindergarten, their making, and use. It examines the effectiveness and functionality of these rules in a particular class. The work is divided into two parts. The first, theoretical part examines preschool education, types of education, and various educational models. It briefly analyses the education based on reward and punishment and its positive and negative aspects. It also presents the pyramid of human needs, which is linked to the last chapter of the thesis. The closing of the theoretical part is dedicated to rules and setting boundaries, it describes the means and goals, specifies important conditions needed to observe rules and their internalization. The practical part deals with rules in the particular kindergarten and the process of making the rules. The research addresses the functionality of rules, their use and violation. It also looks at the causes of rule-breaking and searches for ways to achieve greater efficiency. The final part of the thesis summarizes the information obtained in semi-structured interviews.
The Rules in Kindergarten Classes

The bachelor degree thesis analyses the system of rules in kindergartens. Its theoretical part deals with the education and moral development of child, describes the educational styles and resources, which allow children to interiorize rules. It also refers to a role of kindergartens with regard to the borders. Last but not least, it deals with the question, how to set up rules correctly, it describes rule-making procedures and monitoring its functionality in kindergartens. The practical part of this thesis evaluates the results of the research that has been realized through questionnaires and interviews. The data obtained reflects the rules applied in kindergartens, rule-making procedure, compliance with the rules as well as personal experience of pedagogues.
