Professional Training of Dental Technician Assistants and their Position while Entering the Labour Market

The aim of the thesis is to show requirements which emerge in the process of specific and really difficult professional education of dental technicians. Especially, the role of the high-school preparation and its focus on competences required by the labor market is being analyzed. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical parts. Within the theoretical part; beginnings, history, traditions, the present and general characteristic of the branch dental technician is described. It also outlines professional and pedagogical aspects of the model of preparation of a dental technician and it describes ties with other related branches. The research and the practical part will follow the evaluation of the professional education level in the group of student and graduates from Střední zdravotnická a Vyšší odborná škola zdravotnická (Medical High School) in České Budějovice. The research maps their opinions on their traineeships in clinical dental laboratories; three angles of views are emphasized: the view of students (or graduates), the views of educators and the views of specialists in clinical facilities.
