Giovanni Marignolli and his "travelogue"
Kubínová, Kateřina
Florentine friar Giovanni Marignolli traveled in the years 1338 - 1352 as a papal envoy to the China. He did´t write any special travelogue, but he described his experiences in Chronica Bohemorum, written for Emperor Charles IV. We must read it in the full context as a commentary of some biblical episodes, because Marignolla´s chronicle begins just with the creation.
