The bachelor’s thesis is devoted to the theory of the benefits of plants on the human psyche and the subsequent processing of an architectural study of the chosen area. The theoretical part defines the theories that confirm the therapeutic effects of plants on the human psyche. At the same time, it approaches the design of hospital campuses, by describing the general rules for the design of such objects, together with the definition of individual groups of users and their subsequent division according to the purpose of the space; depending on where they are located in the hospital campus and depending on which hospital complex they belong to. It also describes inspiring reference examples whose design principles are adequate in context to the proposal in the bachelor’s thesis. On the basis of the field investigation, analyses were prepared that approximate the problems and values of the given territory. Subsequently, a landscape and architectural study of the hospital area was prepared with a focus on the garden. The design corresponds to the function of the object and at the same time uses theoretical knowledge about the therapeutic properties of plants.

Výmladkové lesy jako krajinný fenomén

This work deals with the subject of coppice woodlands. Theoretical part focuses mainly in defining these woodlands and describing their ecological, cultural, and aesthetical values. Several regions of interest were chosen in practical part, where selected individual trees were mapped. Furthermore, a recovery plan was created for restoration of historic landscape with coppice woodlands. This work primarily aims for demonstration of usage possibilities of this landscape element in landscape architecture and garden design.

Zahradně architektonická studie Husova náměstí v Písku

This thesis aims to create a study of “Husovo náměstí” (a square) in the town of Písek within the field of architecture. The thesis is divided into three parts: text, analysis and design. The text-based part defines basic concepts concerning the topic and gives examples of other park squares in the world and the Czech Republic. In the second part the selected area is analyzed. The begging of the design part consists of analysis outcomes. Onwards the result of the design is described. In the conclusion, possible issues of the design are discussed.

Zoologické zahrady jako objekty krajinářské tvorby

This work deals with zoos from the perspective of landscape architecture. The literary part describes the history and development of zoos, the function of modern zoos and their tendencies. Selected zoos in the Czech Republic and neighboring countries were evaluated - in Germany, Austria, Poland and Slovakia. The practical part of the work deals with the design of a model object in the architectural study stage. A part of the zoo in Hodonín was chosen as a model object. During the design, the knowledge gained in the theoretical part of the work was applied. The proposal also takes into account the knowledge gained during field research and analysis of the characteristics of the area of interest. The main idea of the design is to present the uniqueness of Hodonínská Dúbrava and help handicapped animals in such a way that it is sustainable for the Hodonín Zoo.

Přírodní biotopy v krajinářské architektuře

The thesis deals with the issue of natural habitats in wider context. Literature search gives a brief overview of the basic concepts and it shows the possibilities of landscape architecture in the creation and protection of landscape. Slatina river valley, in which the number of habitats of European and national importance are located, was chosen as a model area for this thesis. A primary, secondary and tertiary structure of the country has been evaluated as a basis for further evaluation and proposal. In the model area there were mapped the habitats and their ecological and socio-economic assessment was performed by the field investigation. Based on the identified knowledge, the management area was designed for preserve natural habitats. Knowledge are summarized in conclusion and own opinion on the issue is formulated. The work includes own photo documentation.
