Etologické pozorovaní vybrané skupiny jehňat
Mrishchuk, Elizaveta
The topic of the bachelor thesis was ethological observation of a selected group of lambs. This bachelor's degree consists of two parts, namely a theoretical part and a practical or experimental part. The theoretical part contains individual information about the scientific field of ethology, its characteristics and meaning, as well as the origin of ethology, methods of observation and classification of animal behavior. Another part of the literature review is a description of the meaning of sheep breeding, the behavior of lambs, specific life manifestations. The experimental part consists of a description of the observed breed, also of my results of ethological observation and ethograms, and also includes an evaluation of the obtained results. The behavior of newborn lambs, lambs approximately 10 days old, and month-old animals was compared. In the end, I found out that newborn lambs spent more than half of their time resting, a quarter of the time moving behind their mother or standing. Animals 10 days old spent much less time resting than newborns, only 30%. In older animals, I observed new life manifestations: exploring the surroundings, caring for the exterior or drinking water. Month-old animals rested even less in percentage terms. The time spent pumping milk or exploring the surroundings also decreased. But on the other hand, grooming was increasing.

The aim of the Diploma thesis was to monitor and evaluate selected influences on the weight of lambs at their birth. There were used basic breeding records of 604 lambs of both sexes in the breed of Wallachian sheep from the farm Ing. Jan Vejčík for the analysis. Birth weights were evaluated according to sex, litter frequency, litter order, paternal line and the year of birth. The results of the comparison brought the following findings. The influence of the father on the live weight of the lambs at birth was confirmed by the F test based on the significance level (p < 0.05 to 0.01) as statistically significant to almost highly significant. Comparing the average weight of lambs at birth by father´s line, the birth weight of lambs of the VALVEJ line clearly prevails. Moderate differences were shown between the effects of the frequency and order of litter, the other in terms of importance was the influence of the year of birth of lambs. The effect of sex of live-born lambs was statistically insignificant.
Impact of various selenium supplements offered sheep on lambs´vitality
HUPKOVÁ, Petra
The aim of my thesis was to compare the effects of selenium in organic form (bound to Chlorella algae and to yeast) and of selenium in inorganic form (Na2SeO3) on the growth and some chosen hematological and biochemical parameters. Two experiments were conducted. During the first one, the effect of selenium in organic form bound to Chlorella algae and selenium in inorganic form was observed when offered gravid sheep against a control group without selenium. During the second one, the effects of selenium in inorganic form and in various organic forms were monitored when offered the sheep after their delivery. The experiments proved positive impact of selenium offered the sheep already during the period of their gravidity (whether in organic or inorganic form) on the growth of the lambs and some chosen biochemical blood parameters of theirs. Selenium in organic form bound to Chlorella, the fluvial algae, had more positive effects on the lambs´ growth parameters than organic form bound to yeast and than inorganic form (Na2SeO3). The effect of selenium in organic form bound to yeast offered the sheep after their delivery was not better than offering inorganic sodium selenite. Lambs´ growth parameters seem to be better when the sheep are offered selenium already during their gravidity in comparison with the sheep having already delivered. The pure Chlorella added into the feeding ration for gravid sheep has a positive impact on lambs´ birth weight and growth parameters. The need appears to reconsider alcaline phosphatase values which the literature states as objective.

The Thesis The factors affecting sheep meat yield is concentrating on lamb growth ability and the factors which can positively or negatively affect this ability. The basic findings of previous researches and analyses are mentioned at the beginning of the thesis followed by basic classification of lamb meat yield factors. Subsequently, there is an explanation of author's own research where the selected factors were empirically tested. The research took place between years 2013 and 2016 on one flock of sheep on pastures of Orlicke hory region. The birth weight and the weight gain of lambs were monitored in order to evaluate effects of gender, feeding rations and number of lambs in one litter on weight gain ability of each reared lamb. The research has shown that the most important factor is the correct setting of feeding rations while the initial birth weight is mostly influenced by the number of lambs in one litter. On the other hand, the research was unable to prove the effect of gender on the weight gain.
Analýza metabolických a reprodukčních ukazatelů ovcí ve vybraném chovu plemene suffolk
OUŘEDNÍKOVÁ, Kateřina
The aim of the study was to analyze the reproductive, productive and metabolic values of ewes from selected parameters in blood, milk and urine in correlation to their metabolic state. The results were used to draw up new breeding and feeding schemes. The research was carried out in 2015, and the sample size consisted of 62 Suffolk ewes. The analysis of reproductive parameters of selected ewes confirms appropriately chosen breeding methods. The average weight of lambs at birth (3,82 kg) is affected by the number of lambs at birth. The average weight of lambs at 100 days of age (32,54 kg) depends on the number of lambs per ewe and the age of ewe. The average daily weight gain makes 0,325 kg per lamb. Lowered concentration of proteins related to the decreased level of urea in the blood plasma signifies insufficient intake of nitrogen of ewes from feed.
Vyhodnotenie rastovej intenzity a exteriéru oviec plemena Zwartbles, Suffolk a Charollais
Vasko, Ondrej
The aim of the thesis was the evaluation of growth intensity of the sheep based on the regular measurement of weight parameters and the measurement of selected indi-vidual body parts of mixed breed of Zwartbles sheep kept at the farm in Mohelno and the breeds of Suffolk and Charollais sheep kept at the School agricultural enterprise Žabčice, in between the years 2013-2015. From the results of the measurements were calculated average daily gains and aver-age live weights during predetermined days. These results were evaluated at the farm in Mohelno using factors such as litter size, sex and size together with sex. At the farm in Žabčice the evaluation was based on factors of litter size, sex, breed and sex together with breed. The statistically significant differences(p-0,05) were shown for the average daily gain in a range from 30th up to 70th day and for the average live weight in the 70th day between singles (229,4 g*day-1 and 20,62kg) and triplets (180,65 g*day-1 and 17,24kg), in the favour of singles of Zwartbles breed and between breeds of Suffolk and Charollais in the favour of muscle height and fat height in 100th day of age, whereby higher results were obtained by Suffolk breed. The results of measurements of length parameters show almost in every groups the statistically significant differences, but in the Zwartbles breed there was not demon-strated any influence of litter size on pelvic measures and also there were not demon-strated any differences between Suffolk and Charollais breeds, with an exception of shin perimeter, where the difference was significant (p-0,01), whereby the higher values were reached by Suffolk breed sheep (9,48 cm) which were fallen behind by Charollais breed sheep (8,85 cm).
