Analysis of clients needs in low-threshold drop-in center SANANIM: Questionnaire survey

Background: Human needs encompass a spectrum ranging from fundamental physiological requirements, such as breathing and sustenance, to elevated needs like love and appreciation. While most individuals fulfill these needs through typical social interactions, certain groups, including those engaging in illicit drug use, seek assistance from institutions such as the SANANIM contact centre. The objective of this thesis is to ascertain the perceived needs of clients at the facility and evaluate the extent to which these needs are being addressed. These insights can contribute to enhancing existing services and introducing new ones where necessary. Another objective is to formulate a unique questionnaire suitable for consistently assessing the requirements of the facility's clientele. Methods: The instrument of data production was an original questionnaire, created specifically for the research, which was filled in with the respondent by the interviewer - PAPI (Pen and Paper Interviewing). Research Sample: The study involved 60 clients of the low-threshold center SANANIM who utilize the services provided by this facility. Patterns of buprenorphine use among clients of Outreach Programme SANANIM

Abstact BACKGROUND: Buprenorphine is currently the most popular opiate drug on Czech drug scene. There was estimated at around 6,300 users of buprenorphine (Subutex ® mainly), in 2012 according to the annual report of the National Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction. It provided 15% of all problem drug users in the country. However the issue of abuse of buprenorphine is discussed among experts rarely. AIMS: The aim of the study was described patterns of use of buprenorphine among clients Outreach programme Sananim. Emphasis is placed mainly on frequency of use, the daily consumption of buprenorphine and a description of common patterns of user behavior, from the purchase to the method of application of the drug. It was also examined subjective perceptions of somatic complications of users and frequency of use of other illicit drugs. METHODS: Data were collected by semi-structured questionnaire, which clients of Outreach programme Sananim filled with assistance of the researcher. For data analysis method was used grounded theory.
