Ethical aspects of social work with family

The submitted diploma thesis deals with ethical aspects in the field of social work with family. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the characteristics of a family as a basic social institution and its functional disorders. It also deals with the specifics of social work with family, looking at family as a client of a social worker. Last but not least, it describes the importance of ethics in social work and ethical dilemmas that a social worker may encounter. The content of the second part of the thesis includes the results of a research survey using the method of qualitative research conducted through semi-structured interviews with ten social workers who work in organizations providing social services to families with children who are in an unfavorable life situation. The results of the research acquaint the reader with an approach to the client, with ethical dilemmas of social workers working with family, with ways of solving dilemmas as well as with personal experiences and emotions of the individual struggling with dilemma.
