Nursing care of a patient after pulmonary lobectomy in an intensive care bed
VAŇKOVÁ, Veronika
This bachelor's thesis focuses on nursing care for patienst after pulmonary lobectomy in the intensive care unit. Pulmonary lobectomy is a surgical procedure involving the removal of a lung lobe, most commonly due to lung cancer. The aim of this thesis was to identify the specific aspects of care for patients after pulmonary lobectomy, emphasize the importance of care for chest drains provided by educated nurses, and explore the significance of rehabilitation during recovery. The research was conducted using qualitative methods through interviews in the departments of cardiac surgery, thoracic surgery, and vascular surgery. The research sample consisted of seven patients hospitalized in these departments and four doctors. The results of the research indicated that nurses responsible for the care of chest drains are well-trained, which contributes to a low incidence of complications associated with these drains. It was also found that early rehabilitation is crucial for successful recovery, as delayed rehabilitation can lead to numerous complications that limit patients' everyday activities. The study also examined the specifics of care for patients after pulmonary lobectomy, which in many aspects do not differ from care after other thoracic surgeries. The findings of this work confirm that patients after pulmonary lobectomy receive quality care from professionally trained staff. These insights can be used to educate new nurses and inform patients who are undergoing this procedure.

The role of the nurse in the care of the patient with dentophobia
ŠÍMOVÁ, Tereza
Dentophobia, known as fear of dentists, represents a common problem. For patients suffering from dentophobia, a visit to the dentist is often a source of stress and anxiety, which can lead to postponement of necessary care and deterioration of their dental condition. The theoretical part of the work deals with the issue of the origin of dentophobia, explains its etiology and reasons for its maintenance, and presents various alternative treatments. It also focuses on the importance of the nurse educator and the education process, which represents a key method for working with patients. Verbal and non-verbal communication, professional approach, and space for the patient's understanding of the provided information are key elements of care for patients with dentophobia. One of the goals is to gather available knowledge of the educational process of nurses about patients with dentophobia. The research part of the work focuses on data collection through semi-structured interviews with dental nurses. The questions are aimed at their experiences with patients suffering from dentophobia, recognizing this phobia, and subsequent interventions suitable for supporting patients. The aim is also to map out the means that denatl nurses use to educate patients. Furthermore to identify nursing problems in the care of patients with dentophobia. The collected data are processed for greater clarity using open coding. The results showed deficiencies in the awareness of dental nurses about dentophobia and the absence of educational materials for nurses to effectively educate patients with this phobia. These findings emphasize the need to improve nurses' awareness and provide suitable materials to help them better understand and support patients with dentophobia. Overall, it can be said that the research provided important insights into the state of awareness and availability of resources for nurses who are trying to educate patients with dentophobia.
Health literacy in diabetics
RUSSFELLOVÁ, Pavla
This bachelor thesis deals with health literacy in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus. Type 1 diabetes mellitus is an autoimmune disease characterized by the destruction of insulin-producing pancreatic beta-cells. The first symptoms may manifest as a severe hyperglycaemic state requiring hospital admission. After the diagnosis of the disease, therapy is initiated, in which it is necessary to substitute the missing insulin into the body throughout life and to follow the treatment regimen, namely diet, exercise and self-monitoring of glycaemia. The ability of patients to adhere to the established treatment regimen depends on their health literacy. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the characteristics of health literacy, the characteristics of type 1 diabetes mellitus and education of type 1 diabetic patients on regimen measures. The empirical part of the thesis was developed by using qualitative research methodology with research files of patients and nurses. Data collection was done with both research sets through the implemented technique of semi-structured interviews. The data collected was processed using open coding using pencil and paper method and categorized. The intention of this undergraduate thesis was to achieve the four stated aims relating to health literacy in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus. Three objectives were created for the patients, namely to find out from which sources they obtain health relevant information, how they prevent deterioration of their health condition and what habits they have in following their regimen. One objective was created for nurses, which examined how nurses educate patients about regimen measures. The results of the survey showed that patients choose the internet or their doctor as the most common source of health information, primarily their diabetes specialist. The research also found that patients prevent deterioration of their health by keeping regular medical check-ups and adhering to treatment measures, with insulin administration and diet being the most important for them. In addition, it was found that in the area of dietary measures, patients experience difficulties in counting carbohydrate units. Insulin administration is easier for patients using insulin pumps, as patients are comfortable with continuous insulin administration in automatic or manual pump mode. Patients found convalescent stays to be the most effective in adhering to the exercise regimen. In self-monitoring of blood glucose, patients are most comfortable with sensor monitoring. Nurses were also found to be the least focused in patient education about monitoring via sensor. They direct education about exercise regimen to physicians. Nurses are involved in the education of family members and record the results of their education in the educational record. Based on the results obtained, which address the health literacy of patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus, educational material for nurses educating patients with this disease is developed. The educational material will contribute to the strengthening of nurses' education in the area related to regimen measures in patients with type 1 DM.

In the research investigation, it was found that midwives are oriented in their care for a woman who gives birth prematurely. In addition to performing routine procedures, they also provide professional psychological support to women, are empathetic, and are able to educate and inform women appropriately within their scope of competence. Midwives are fully aware of all their competencies.
Areas of education in the care of a surgical patient
ČEKALOVÁ, Petra
This thesis deals with patient´s education in the surgical ward of the Hospital Jindřichův Hradec. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. In the theoretical part of the thesis we define the concept of education and subsequently areas of education and educational methods. In order to prepare the thesis we used qualitative research methods. As for the data collection technique, we used a semi-structured interview with fifteen patients and fifteen general nurses. The analysis of the interviews was conducted in the form of "paper pencil" method and open coding method. The results were divided into categories and subcategories. For the sake of clarity, the individual categories and subcategories have been arranged in diagrams. The aim of the thesis is: 1 To investigate the extent of patient education prior to elective surgery during an one-day hospital stay. 2 To determine patients' views on the extent of information given during an one-day hospital stay. 3 To determine a nurses' opinion on importance and effectiveness of conducting a patient education on nutrition, exercise and wound care before and after the surgery. 4 To identify the most common methods used by nurses in patient´s education on the surgical ward. To address these objectives, there were identified five research questions: 1 What information was provided to patients as part of their education prior to elective surgery during their one-day hospitalization? 2 What information was provided to patients regarding nutrition, exercise and wound care during their one-day hospitalization? 3 How do patients evaluate the information given by nurses during their one-day hospitalization? 4 What is the opinion of nurses on the effectiveness of patient education before and after surgery? 5 What methods do nurses most often use to educate patients hospitalized in a surgical ward? Results of the research could serve as a basis for a course for surgical nurses, focusing on education of postoperative patients in the areas of nutrition, exercise and wound care. Furthermore, this research could be used to create new educational materials for patients before and after surgery (e.g. leaflets, brochures, etc.).

Let's discover the past of progress with a virtual assistant
Hanzalová, Linda ; Havlůjová, Hana (advisor) ; Hnilica, Jiří (referee)
In my diploma thesis, I am looking for a way to awaken, maintain and deepen people's relationship with technical monuments in the cultural landscape, thereby increasing their chance of preserving them for future generations as evidence of the history of human ingenuity. I deal with the possibilities of connecting interpretation and education, or guides and teachers, at technical monuments with help of a virtual environment which is close to today's young generation. The goal of my work is to create such an interactive educational program/game focusing on technical monuments which will make the participants, through an application on a mobile phone or tablet, physically visit a technical monument, get to know it in its authentic environment and thus create a personal relationship with it. At the same time, in the role of the creator of this type of educational program, I also examine the environment, the conditions for the implementation of the plan, as well as the possibility of sharing game experiences, partial and overall results, including their own research, with other users. I am looking for a way to make heritage education "alive", developing and sustainable. KEYWORDS Technical monuments, play, interpretation, education, crafts, technologies, virtual environment, experience.
