The meaning of life of children living in a children's home PETRŮ, Barbora Theoretical part focuses on children's Home as an institution and on social work in children's Home. It describes possible causes for placing children in constitutional care and socially-legal children protection. It also describes family and related di- sorders of parenthood and families. It's mentioned here the meaning of life and questions about the purpose of existence as viewed by Viktor E. Frankl. The theore- tical part characterizes working in direct client care and children age categories, es- pecially preschool age, school age and adolescence. The deprivation of child related to placement in children's home is also described at the end of theoretical part. Practical part concentrates on qualitative research with the goal of mapping ideas of children about life from the view of caretakers. It processes structured inter- views with open questions of four participants, then it separates the children ideas into age groups, where the reader can even see how the ideas have evolved with age.
