It focuses on chosen problems solution in details and applies a suitable method which leads to improved and efficient corporate management.

This thesis deals with controlling and analyses role of controlling in company. The first part explains definition of controlling, how it has developed, and what roles and aims of controlling are. Furthermore, this part identifies role of controller and describes controlling tools. Practical part firtsly presents basic information about a company chosen for analysis and its use of controlling. Secondly, an overview of controlling is presented based on information provided by interviewed professionals working in the company. Finally, suggestions for optimization of controlling in the company were recommended.

Controlling as a Tool for Management

This thesis deals with the controlling and analyzes its position and a role in the company. In the theoretical part some basic information about the controlling, about the tools and methods used by the controlling and about the controller and a relationship between him and the manager is mentioned. In the practical part the theoretical knowledges are applied to the selected company and there are some suggestions that would contribute to improving the controlling system in the company.

Enterprise-wide planning process, comparing the plan with reality, evaluating deviations and reporting are the most important aspects of corporate governance in the current period. Controller assigned irreplaceable function of initiator, coordinator and methodology in the entire planning process. Part of planning is the preparation of operational plans and budgets, which are the central theme of this work. This work covers applications controlling methods and tools for portfolio of managed projects (companies providing rental of commercial space). The nature and importance of controlling, controlling selected methods and analysis is explained in the theoretical part. In the second, practical part was, after the analysis of costs and revenues, prepared a model of corporate budget and its component parts
