Cooling Concepts in Power Electronics
Hőhn, Matěj ; Súkeník, Jakub (referee) ; Toman, Marek (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with cooling concepts in power electronics and experimental measurements of thermal resistances in two different fan-cooled heat sink samples. In the first part of the thesis, calculations of losses in semiconductor switching devices are described. These are losses due to current conduction and switching between operating states. Then the basics of heat transfer theory such as conduction transfer, convection transfer, radiation transfer, and thermal-electrical analogy are described. In the third section, the procedure for calculating the required thermal resistance of the heat sink is described. Then, cooling concepts in power electronics are described, which include basic types of heat sinks, fan-cooled cooling and its operating characteristics, heat pipes, thermoelectric cooling and the use of liquid systems, such as cold plates and boiling liquid cooling. The last part of the thesis describes the preparation of a laboratory workstation for measuring the thermal resistance of two different fan-cooled coolers and comparing the measured results.
Ventilation of a multifunctional house
Husák, Martin ; Rubina, Aleš (referee) ; Rubinová, Olga (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the design of ventilation equipment and air conditioning for a multifunctional building, which has 4 doctor's offices, a hairdresser, a driving school and 3 residential flats. The house is designed to meet all the necessary requirements regarding ventilation. Air handling units are designed to discharge degraded air to the exterior and bring fresh air back. Thermal comfort for the winter is ensured by radiators and in the summer by air conditioning. The theoretical part is focused on climatic conditions for the design of air conditioners, refrigeration systems and refrigerants.
Air conditioning systems in educational buildings
Husák, Martin ; Uher, Pavel (referee) ; Uher, Pavel (referee) ; Rubinová, Olga (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the design of several variants of cooling for a given building and air conditioning equipment. The building is divided into several zones. One zone was selected for which cooling variants were created. The first cooling va-riant was chosen as VRV system. The second was chosen cooling ceiling with heat pump. The last variant is fancoils with a heat pump. The results from all variants were evaluated. The theoretical part is a larger part focused on heat pumps and their use for cooling.
