Analysis of a selected groups of psychiatric patients
Päckertová, Barbora ; Šídlo, Luděk (advisor) ; Lustigová, Michala (referee)
This diploma thesis focuses on the analysis of selected diagnoses of psychiatric patients in 2019, specifically diagnoses from the category F30-F39 (affective disorders) and F40-F48 (neurotic, stress- related and somatoform disorders). The aim of this work is to approach the topic of mental disorders, related concepts, and to analyze selected patients receiving outpatient health care with a focus on the Czech Republic. The work uses anonymized data from VZP ČR for selected diagnoses. Within the monitored diagnoses, data for the number of uniquely treated patients (UOP), the number of contacts / visits to outpatient health care facilities and the costs of outpatient care for selected diagnoses are analyzed. Descriptive analysis of selected diagnoses is performed on the basis of two expertise (305 - psychiatry and 901 - clinical psychology). The data showed that the proportion of VZP ČR's patients with selected diagnoses differs according to outpatient health expertise. The highest share of patients in expertise 305 is visible within middle-aged patients, on the contrary, in expertise 901 is the largest share of patients within younger age categories. Based on both expertise, the highest average costs spent by VZP ČR on 1 UOP and number of average contacts on 1 UOP for selected diagnoses also differ.

Kocová, Markéta
Analysis of morbidity in Czechia investigating health care provision and take-up in relation to diabetes mellitus Abstract Diabetes mellitus is a life-threatening disease which presents as hyperglycaemia or raised blood glucose. Late detection or a failure to follow treatment guidelines may lead to complications that significantly impact on the sufferer's daily life and require expensive medical treatment. The growing prevalence of this disease, which no longer only affects developed countries, therefore presents enormous risks to health care systems and society as a whole. The aim of this thesis is to analyse the geodemographic characteristics of the current diabetic population in Czechia. Particular attention will be paid to the age of diabetes sufferers, since in Czechia data on this is lacking. In pursuit of this aim the thesis makes use of anonymised data from the largest Czech health insurance company (Czech General Health Insurance). The first part of the thesis looks at diabetes mellitus as a medical condition, concentrating primarily on the basic types of the disease but also considering the potential health complications this disease causes. The theoretical part will discuss the main risk factors of developing the disease, such as genetic predisposition, age, obesity and other potential factors...
