Genetically modified products from feed in kidneys of broilers
POSPÍŠIL, Miroslav
This bachelor thesis gives an overview of managing detection of genetically manipulated products from chicken feed. Kidneys of chickens which were fed by feed that has been genetically modificated were subject to examination. Two GM plants were necessary for the examination, one of them being resistent Bt-maize, the other one herbicide-tolerant Roundup Ready soya. Both plants were used as additives in feed mixture for poultry. Detection of prospective trangenes was realized by means of molecular-genetic methods {--} PCR and electrophoresis. Ascertained risks for consumers will be evaluated upon the results of the thesis.
The detection of food with gene manipulated organisms in chicken
VRABCOVÁ, Petra
The aim of this study is to confirm or to refutate possible transfer of transgene from diet containing genetically modified organism in blood of broilers. Broilers were fed with diets containing Roundup Ready soybean and Bt maize (MON810). DNA was isolated from the whole blood of these broilers. PCR using primers for growth hormon was performed as control of isolation. Then samples were submitted to PCR for detection of fragments of lectin genes from soya and HMG gene from maize. Fragments of soya DNA and maize DNA in the blood were detected. Subsequently, the detection of specific transgene of RoundupReady soya and Bt maize (MON810) in blood samples was positive too.
Genetically modified products from feed in livers of broilers
BUCKOVÁ, Pavlína
Aim of this thesis is to manage detection of genetically modified products (GMP) from feed in liver of chicken, which diet contained GMP feed. Two GMO crops were used for feed, insect-resistant Bt-maize and herbicide {--} tolerant Roundup Ready soybean . Both crops are important components of chicken feed. The detection will be practise by molecular biological methods. The possible dangers for consument should by evaluated in conclusion.
