The motif of pig-slaughtering in visual arts and its possible potential for the use in art therapy
CARASOVÁ, Adéla
The work deals with the tradition of the pig-slaughtering and its reflection in the visual arts, from the genre art of the 16th century to the present. This tradition contains both the religion meaning and symbolism of the bloody sacrifice, as well as the secular mening of the whole event and the customs associated with it: the consolidation of the community of a certain group of people, the nutritional and ecological value. There is also an allegory of human characteristics and tendencies in artistic reflection. It is not only through artistic creation that we can observe that the tradition of the pig-slaughtering is slowly disappearing, although the symbolism of raw meat remains in mind. Finally, the work reflects on the topic of the pig-slaughtering in the environment of Rožnov art therapy and monitors its terapeutic potential. Blood plays a role in the therapeutic use of the theme of the pig-slaughtering and its importance as a symbol of life energy. In the painting, blood is a metafor for unconscious affective forces that co-create dynamic processes in the human psyche. Thus, the topic of thepig-slaughtering in art therapy is used to work within trapsychic conflicts. I prove the variability of this work by interpreting the images of students in the field of art therapy created within a self-experienced class.
Topic "The Puppet Theatre" from the Point of View of Art Therapy
ZACHOVÁ, Kateřina
The Bachelor's thesis focuses on the role of a puppet and puppet theatre in the art therapy for adults. It is based on the method applied to this phenomenon in the Roznov therapy. The theoretical part provides an overview of the principles on which the theme is based. It combines the approaches of art therapy with those of theatre studies. It analyses the theme of a puppet theatre as a specific theatrical genre and examines its metaphorical potential. Furthermore, the thesis elucidates the substance of drama therapy and Roznov therapy. Puppet theatre is unjustly neglected in the field of expressive therapies. Roznov Therapy is able to use it in the therapy of adults what is quite exeptional. But even there the puppet theatre is marginal. There are few written documents descripting its problematics. That is why I decided to summarise key data on the current state of the Roznov analysis of clients production focused on the puppet theatre, in my thesis. That was done based on interviews with eight experienced therapists. A marionette is a specific type of a puppet in terms of its construction. It has an exclusive status in the history of theatre and in the Roznov Therapy. Both the theoretical and practical part of the thesis attempt to answer the question why it is so and what therapeutic and analytical options it offers. That is why the practical part describes a pilot experiment aimed at establishing in what ways adult clients react to a puppet, with a special focus on a preferred specific type of puppet construction (marionette, mannequin, wayang). In the end, the practical part assesses the efficiency of a puppet as a carrier of lateralised transfer and the measure of correlation between a client's preference for a type of puppet construction and his or her personality traits. Pilot experimental screening discovered facts that, beeing proved in future qualitative and quantitative research, will be enriching for further developement of expressive therapies. The pilot experiment resulted in the revision of its form and establishment of hypotheses and a follow-up research directions.
Art Development and its Reflection in Real Life of Art- Therapy Students over the Three Years of Study.
BLAŽÍČKOVÁ, Jana
The aim of this Bachelor´s Thesis is analysis of the artistic expression of Art Therapy students during their three-year program. In the theoretical part, I will consider the paradigm of the Roznov Art Therapy school and its topics. I will focus on the work with artifacts. The focus will be on the work with artifact and the symbolism of colors within and without an artwork. I will also try to cover and define the changes within artistic expression. In the practical part, I will try to describe artistic development and point out the changes of artistic expression in the students´ artwork. The issue of artistic expression will be put in the context of the events and transformations in the students´ lives. I will try to incorporate pivotal moments in their lives and their possible relationship to the art-therapeutic training (self-experience) matters over the course of their study. The analysis will include not only typical Roznov topics, but also topics of controlled intervention within the studio lessons. The focus will be on the extent of the overlap between perception and reality, changes in colors and composition and the symbolization and pathology contained in the expression. I will attempt to demonstrate the transformation and artistic development on the visual production and case interpretation of the Art-therapy students.
