Využití embryotransferu v chovu holštýnského skotu
Musilová, Ivana
This bachelor’s thesis gives an overview and basic information about the method of transferring embryos in cows, basic procedures needed for its realization, physiological processes related to reproduction, and other methods used when working with embryos. It describes the embryo transfer from the farmer’s point of view (such as choosing and preparing the donor cow, collection of embryos and manipulation with them) but also from the animal’s perspective (ovarian and sexual cycle, impregnation, and embryo development). In the practical part, there is an evaluation of data gained over the years 2019 to 2021 from a dairy farm Agras Bohdalov a.s. During the evaluated period there were approximately 57 embryo flushings per year, 442 embryos were collected and 263 of them were suitable for transfer. About 59.3 % of this amount was transferred immediately and the rest was frozen. In total, 268 calves were born from fresh embryos and 67.54 % of them were heifers. There were 179 donor cows chosen and flushed over the three monitored years and 45 % of them were heifers. The most frequently used bulls were Twitch (used 13 times total) and Nighthawk (10 times).
Vliv ročního období na mléčnou užitkovost a změny chování dojnic holštýnského skotu v průběhu roku ve vybraném chovu
Rusnáková, Jaroslava
This bachelor thesis studied the effect of season on change in milk yield and behav-ioural change in Holstein dairy cows. The research was carried out in a selected farm in the South Moravian region from April 2021 to December 2021. The research on the change in milk yield, characterised by daily production intake and milk content, was carried out on an average number of 313 cows on all lactations in April-May, July-August, October-November and December. The lowest protein (3.2%) and fat (3.56%) content was found in the sample from the summer period. The lactose content in the summer months was the highest (5.05 %). The behaviour of the dairy cows was observed in the 2nd lactation herd. Behavioural observations included the following activities: water intake, feeding, resting, rumination, con-tact, exercise, comfort behaviour and defecation. Resting was the most performed activity (36.98%) and defecation was the least performed activity (1.33%).
Analysis of milk yield in a selected herd of dairy cattle
PAVLÍKOVÁ, Gabriela
The aim of this work was to prepare a literature review of the milk yield of dairy cows and especially about the indicators and main factors that affect it. In the practical part, the aim was to evaluate the milk yield in a selected herd of dairy cattle and to draw conclusions and recommendations from the results.
Comparison of breeding values of the Holstein bulls with real performance of their daughters in selected breeding
ZIKMUND, Jiří
The aim of the work was to evaluate the real benefit of the breeding performance of a bull on a group of daughters in selected breeding, in comparison with his presented breeding values. The work was monitored four breeding bulls, who were part of the breeding plans in the breeding Maly Bor. The daughter's results of these breeding bulls were monitored in the period of the year 2018 and 2019.
The metabolic profile of the milch cow of holstein breed in the period of lactation
HORČIČKOVÁ, Michaela
Diploma work was concentrated on the evaluation of two metabolic profiles on the milch cows of Holstein breed on the basic of compilated nutritive rations for individual phases of lactation. The metabolic tests were evaluated in the milch cows in the period of making cow milk, the top of lactation and the second phase of lactation. The balance of nutriments was counted out in the nutritive rations. The haemotological and biochemical parameters, macromineral and urinary profiles were evaluated in the metabolic profiles. The work in the both metabolic profiles evidenced the reduced number of erythrocytes which can be connected with the occurence of anaemia. In the period of the top of lactation it is possible to speculate about an energetical deficit with regard to the low content of triacylglycerols. In the profile tests the presence of ketone bodies substances in urine was found out in the period of making cow milk. This finding connects with the negative energetic balance that occurrs in the course of the first two months after calving. Within of mineral profile an attention should be paid to especially the content of calcium, which was reduced in the both profiles. In comparison with the profiles perfomed in 2011 we find out that reached modifications of the nutrive ration and the increase in the content of main nutriments, which shoved in the milch cows by improvement of metabolic effects. Neverthless in breeding of the milch cows the increased emphasis should be put on the period of making cow milk and the recommendation for prevention from anaemia or other disorders is carrying out of the selective metabolic test.
