Tomography of a bronze axe of the Únětice culture, found in Kukleny, Hradec Králové
Kumpová, Ivana ; Vopálenský, Michal
It has been shown in the past that the computed X-ray tomography can bear significant new findings on the distribution of damaging and other structural details of the bronze findings. However, relatively high beam energies are necessary and it is not a priori ensured that the object under test would be penetrated with the radiation sufficiently. A big problem is also the photon scattering, which can make fine details indistinguishable. Therefore, a chosen Únětice culture axe has been submitted to a tomographical investigation in the laboratory of X-ray tomography of the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, v.v.i. The result should confirm the suitability of the method for investigations of other similar bronze findings.
Mobility of human populations at the end of the Stone Age
ČERVINKA, Pavel
The presented work entitled "Mobility of Human Populations at the End of the Stone Age" describes, generalizes, summarizes and subsequently evaluates the factors of migratory tendencies in prehistory - for the period of Neolithic over Eneolithic to Early Bronze Age. Emphasis is placed on the clarification of all interdisciplinary issues. Further on a detailed description of individual processes and archaeological approaches to them. As a basis for my own research, a database of data impacted by articles based on the study of strontium isotopes was created. In the next steps, the database was processed using statistical tools and its outputs were contingency tabletables and charts. Spatial assessment and their contexts were conducted in the GIS (Geographic Information System).
Bone pins of the Early Bronze Age in Bohemia and Moravia
Čihák, Martin ; Bláhová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Langová, Michaela (referee)
Bone pins of the Early Bronze Age are interesting, not too frequent, and still properly unprocessed kind of artifact. Probably based on an older tradition, but they were soon replaced by the metal pins. The main objective is to develop as most detailed catalog of findings as is possible, tracking the finding context and chronological position of bone pins in the Early Bronze Age in Bohemia. The subject of the work is also a question of technology used in the production bone and antler industry and its evidence from the Bronze Age, focusing on the technology and processes used in the production of bone pins. Another factor which is monitored is the social status of bearers of the bone pins in the Early Bronze Age.

Analysis of ceramics from the Early and Late Bronze Age site in Praha - Chodovec
POKORNÁ, Kamila
The present work aims to partially assess the ceramic material recovered from the Early and Late Bronze Age site in Praha - Chodovec. Due to the large amount of ceramic material obtained from the entire site, the work deals only with the fragments of ceramic vessels recovered from objects 60, 69, 245 and 289. The analysis of ceramic fragments is based on a descriptive system designed by O. Chvojka. The main purpose of ceramic fragment analysis is to provide accurate dating of individual objects.
