The diploma thesis focuses on the creation of a furniture element for multimedia. The current market offer in this area, addresses the placement of electronics in furniture in several ways. It can be a separate placement of electronics in an acknowledged visible form, or placement in furniture so that individual devices are not visible. The latter option is more common on the market. The hiding of the equipment is mostly done with wooden fronts, which have to be folded or opened so that the electronics can be operated afterwards. One other option is to place the elements behind a glass front, which allows the signal throughput of the drivers but is not suitable for storing speakers. In this thesis, the use of a sound textile is offered as another possible option, which solves the problem of the signal throughput not only of the drivers but also of the sound propagating from the speakers. The use of these fabrics in conjunction with furniture is not common in the Czech Republic. In the prototype, solid wood and textile are combined with newer modern technology to create a harmony between traditional and modern materials.

The task of this work is to design a solitary furniture element with storage space for audiovisual equipment. The first part of which this work consists is the practical part. This section covers the development of audio and video equipment from the beginning. Furthermore, the history of furniture associated with this technology. Then the current solution of storing audiovisual equipment, its types, furniture and its requirements, materials and use in the interior. The second practical part deals with the design itself. It begins with an awareness of the problem and requirements, then the design process after the final version, use in a particular interior and ends with its design solution.

The objective of this bachelor's thesis is to create a design of a shelving system intended for public space, specifically for children’s playroom in kindergarten. The design itself is preceded by the review of kindergarten furniture currently offered on the market. The theoretical part of the work deals with the requirements for storage systems in public spaces concerning hygiene and safety as well as technology. We also consider the effects of colours in space on healthy child development. The practical part of the work focuses on the design itself. It includes description of the constructional solution, material overview, selection of optimal colour scheme of the shelving system, and 3D visualisation created in programs Cinema 4D and Lumion. Technical drawings are enclosed as appendices of the thesis.

The main purpose of the bachelor thesis was to use ecological material in the design, such as corrugated cardboard and to create a functional furniture element from it. The first part of the bachelor thesis contained theoretical knowledge, which included ecology, economics, ergonomics, recycling and the properties of paper and cardboard. In the second part, the practical part, the research and the production process of the design and the final product were described.

Subject of the theses is to design a constructional solution of a wooden staircase with storage space in each individual step. The design is made according to the requirements of the customer and specified dimensions by the company of Antonín Klus Vizer Carpentry. The content of theses is the issue of constructional solutions of wooden staircases and storage spaces, especially drawers. The theses also contains a research of similar constructional solutions. The outcome is several design versions, calculations, blueprints, relevant piece lists, visualisations and evaluation of direct material costs. The construction is created regarding all technical and safety requirements.

Furniture design for specified company

This diploma thesis is dealing with the problematics of entrance halls and furniture, which is used in this space. The aim of the thesis is to develop a furniture design for the entrance hall and manufacture the product by a Czech company. It collaborates with the work which started during the exchange studies in Finland. The design of the product comes from the theoretical part and it also considers the possibilities of the company. There is a historical development of the entrance halls furniture, its function, and a research, which contains ergonomic and safety standards. There are also described used materials for the final product. In the practical part, there are sketches, the development of the products in Finland by the author and the production of the product by the Czech company.

Contents of this work is to design solutions of furniture mobiliary to furnish entrance hall of the house, the design focuses mainly on storage spaces according to client requirements. The theoretical part deals with storage area requirements, commonly used materials, construction, literature research of similar solutions and safety requirements for furniture in the entrance hall. The practical part consists of drawing documentation, bills of materials and visualization of own design solution. An integral part of the work is also economic evaluation that deals only direct material costs.

The theoretical part is devoted to the historical development of dressing tables and contemporary issues of cosmetics, makeup and hair care. The theoretical part also contains information on ergonomics, safety and construction. The practical part describes the design process, including sketches, renderings, construction and material solutions and prototype production which meets the requirements of the modern user of dressing table.

The master‘s thesis introduces a design of a multipurpose chest of drawers with an emphasis on its modularity. In the theoretical section, the current state of knowledge on the topic is summarized. Overview of a design of the chest of drawers, multifunctional and modular furniture, terminology, ergonomics and norms related to proposed functions are presented. The applied section offers design of the multipurpose chest of drawers that proposes a function of a work table as well as an open storage space. The design was created in compliance with the outlined theory. The outcome of presented work consists of series of visualisations created with the graphic program 3DS Max, technical documentation and constructed prototype.
