Loosening and migration of acetabular cup into the pelvis belongs to the most serious therapeutical complications. Using computational model we have analyzed stress concentrations at the contact of artificial cup and bone tissue.

Three materials titan,polyethylene, cortical bone are taken as elastic. The spongybone of the pelvis is taken as elastoplastic material.

The paper deals with cementless acetabular cup - Beznoska type.This cup is made of 1 mm thick titanium covering and polyethylene inner layer. The subject of the research was to gain basic kmowledge of the behaviour of the composed structure using strain gauge measuring and 3-D FEM by applying ANSYS programme.
