Finally, user guide and also service manual were written.
Research and Development of Modern Emission MEMS Sensors
Pekárek, Jan ; Husák, Miroslav (referee) ; Vlach, Radek (referee) ; Vrba, Radimír (advisor)
The dissertation thesis is focused on research and development of modern emission MEMS sensors. The emission sensor based on the field emission from nanostructured materials represents innovative approach to pressure sensing. The nanostructures serve as electron emitter in an electric field between the cathode and anode in the pressure sensor. This electric field is constant and the change in ambient pressure causes the change of distance between electrodes, thereby the electric field is increasing. This intensity is proportional to the emission from the cathode made of nanostructured material. Changing the distance between the electrodes is caused by the deflection of the deformation element - the membrane, which operates the measured pressure. In the current state of the art an extensive research is carried out to find new nanostructured materials with good emission properties. Four nanostructured materials have been chosen and then experimentally prepared and characterized inside the vacuum chamber. For the simulation of diaphragm bending, the chamber is equipped with linear nano-motion drive SmarAct that enables precise changes of the distance between two electrodes inside the vacuum chamber. The computer model to predict the deformation of diaphragm was prepared in the simulation program CoventorWare. The behavior of diaphragm in a wide range of dimensions of the membrane, its thickness and the applied pressure are possible to predict. The dependencies of the current density on the electric field are plotted from the measured emission characteristics of nanostructured materials and thus characterized nanostructured materials can be compared. The dependencies are further converted by Fowler-Nordheimovy theory on the curve (ln(J/E2) vs. 1/E), whose advantage is linear shape. Basic parameters describing the emission properties of characterized nanostructured materials are deducted. Two methods for vacuum packaging of the sensor electrodes are designed. Anodic bonding technology and encapsulating using glass frit bonding are tested. To evaluate the bonding strength, the bonded substrates are tested for tensile strength.

First part of this work is focused on the description exist methods for measuring refraction index of air. Second part deal with concrete problem realization measurement unit for monitoring of refraction index of air. Refraction index of air is measured indirect method which is based on a modified Edlen formula.
Pressure monitor for microfluidic systems
Romaňák, Adam ; Sekora, Jiří (referee) ; Čmiel, Vratislav (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with measuring pressure in microfluidic systems. The theoretical part of the work is devoted to microfluidics, pressure in liquids, pressure measurement, distribution of pressure sensors, and their specifications. Then follows the hardware and software solution of the measuring system for measuring the pressure in the microfluidic system using microprocessor technology. The practical part covers the hardware and software implementation of the measuring system.
Digital signal of pressure senzors processing using CPLD
Zátura, Michal ; Fedra, Zbyněk (referee) ; Kováč, Michal (advisor)
The goal of this bachelor’s thesis is to design electronic part of the scanning system used to measure altitude. The electronic part is designed as module connected to the development platform XC2-XL. This module is realized like PCB. The principles of the signal processing of the signal from the pressure sensor MPXH6250, particular blocks of the designed module and principle of the barometrical altitude measuring are also described in this thesis. Thesis briefly informs about designing environment Xilinx ISE, VHDL language, the principle and the application of the pressure sensors, the structure of the programmable logic device CPLD and FPGA, the development platforms XC2-XL, the Xilinx Spartan-3 Starter Kit, the programmable logic devices CPLD Coolrunner-II XC2C256 and Spartan-3 XC3S200 FPGA used on the development platforms. The very important part is to design algorithm for processing the logarithm in the digital logic and it´s implementation in VHDL language.
Development of Laser Welded Common Rail with Radial Connected Pressure Sensor (RPS)
Šantavý, Ivo ; Skrutek, Ivo (referee) ; Ramík, Pavel (advisor)
This dissertation deals with a development of a laser welded common rail with a radially attached RPS sensor of pressure. The new concept required by Bosch Diesel s.r.o. Jihlava should be more modifiable and it should be easily integrated with the engine compartment. In this dissertation I suggested a number of concepts that I further analysed, verified in appropriate software, developed, and finally narrowed the selection down to the most suitable solution, which is recommended and justified in the conclusion.
Fuel Systems of SI-engines
Faiman, Jiří ; Drápal, Lubomír (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
The aim of this work is to create a list of fuel systems used in modern gasoline engines and describe the basic components of these systems. It will then be described the function of each of these components and modes of operation of the fuel system at different modes of engine operation. Finally, will be characterized by the selected engines with these systems.
Abdominal wall activity in patients indicated for total hip replacement compared to the population without advanced coxarthrosis
Opichalová, Klára ; Kobesová, Alena (advisor) ; Oplatková, Lenka (referee)
Introduction: The aim of this study was to explore the relationship between postural stabilization insufficiency and severe coxarthrosis indicated for total joint replacement. Postural stabilization insufficiency was assessed by abdominal wall activity. Methods: 51 participants were recruited. 26 patients with hip arthrosis (13 males and 13 females) were included in the experimental group (mean age 70.5 years, SD 9.1) and 25 participants (10 males and 15 females) in the healthy control group (mean age 70.5 years, SD 7.7). The Ohmbelt device can be used to assess the intra-abdominal pressure indirectly via abdominal wall expansion measurement. The pressure sensor within the Ohmbelt device was attached to the abdominal wall at the area above the inguinal ligament (anterior sensor) and contralateraly at the trigonum lumbale (posterior sensor) by an adjustable belt. The pressure exerted by the abdominal wall wS monitored by the sensors. All subjects were measured twice (once with the anterior sensor, the second time with the posterior sensor) in 3 postural situations - resting breathing in the upright sitting position, the diaphragm test, and holding a 2kg dumbbell in front of the body in the upright sitting position. Results: No statistically significant differences (p>0.05) were found between groups...
Measurement of process variable – pressure
Kouba, Martin ; Hammer, Miloš (referee) ; Konečný, Antonín (advisor)
The measurement of the process quantity of pressure is an important element and condition of the functionality of many industrial applications, especially in the environment of commodity production, transport, pharmacy, food industry and many others. In practise, there are many pressure measurement methods that are applied in different environments and conditions. The choice of measuring equipment depends on many factors, such as the measurement range, environment, sensitivity, response speed, or environmental resistance. The correct procedure in their calibration and determination of measurement uncertainties increase the credibility of the measurement results. The means of data transfer in a modern concept make it possible to better secure and speed up the transfer of information in the measurement chain. All of the above-mentioned facts, in sequence and in relation to each other, fundamentally affect the resulting reliability and effectiveness of the measurement of the process quantity. The study of the measurement of the process quantity of pressure from a comprehensive point of view will allow us to analyse the individual elements of the measuring chain and their interconnection. The content of the thesis provides a basic orientation to the issue of pressure measurement and captures the main trends in individual areas.
