Implementation of the LTE Cat-M1 Communication Technology Using the Network Simulator 3
Maslák, Roman ; Možný, Radek (referee) ; Mašek, Pavel (advisor)
The Diploma work deals with the implementation of LTE Cat-M technology in the simulation tool Network Simulator 3 (NS-3). The work describe LPWA technologies and their use cases. In first are described the main parts of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communication. Subsequently are described and defined the most used technologies in LPWA networks. Technologies which are used in the LPWA networks are Sigfox, LoRaWAN, Narrowband IoT (NB-IoT) and Long Term Evolution for Machines (LTE Cat-M), where LTE Cat-M technology is described in more details. Simulations are simulated in simulation tool NS-3 and use LENA module. In NS 3 tool are simulated Simulations, which give us informations of Network state according to different Network set up. At the end are done changes of Radio Resource Control (RRC) states in NS-3 tool. These changes are required for correct implementation LTE Cat-M technology in NS-3 tool. Then we are able to simulate simulations, which meet to definition of LTE Cat-M technology.
Origin And Elimination Of Interference Resulting In Coexistence Of Lte, Dvb-T And Sdars
Novotny, Bohumil
The article deals with emergency of interference on newly licensed frequencies for communication in NGA 4G LTE networks, which are the source of interference with radio and television broadcasters and serves to raise awareness about the problem of interference in access networks. The article deals with the sources of interference to the licensed bands, their origins and finally provides theoretical and applied possibilities of technical solutions interference between licensed bands.
Coexistence Of LTE And WLAN In The ISM Band
Mikláš, Michal
This paper deals with definition, description and measurement of coexistence scenarios, which can occur between LTE and IEEE 802.11g wireless communication systems in the ISM 2.4 GHz band. There are defined common RF frequency bands for both systems and coexistence scenarios which can arise between them. An appropriate measurement workplace and setup is proposed to measure the interaction between LTE and IEEE 802.11g. The rightness of the proposed measurement setup is verified by experimental laboratory measurements.
Coexistence Between Lte And Lora Systems In The 24 Ghz Ism Band
Potočňak, Martin
This work deals with the study of coexistence scenarios that can occur between wireless systems LTE and LoRa in the 2.4 GHz ISM band. For this purpose an appropriate measurement setup is proposed and realized. The proposed concept enables to provide automatic measurements of the considered coexistence scenarios. It is achieved by the connection of the measurement devices with a switch, a personal computer (PC) and software MATLAB. Functionality of the realized measurement setup is verified by experimental measurements.
Big Data Analytics In The Context Of Mobile Network Performance Optimization
Klus, Roman
Crowdsourcing is a modern and growing technique of acquiring large amount of information. This project utilizes the data on mobile connectivity gathered by RTR NetzTest application to evaluate the performance indicators of the network. The software tool capable of assessing the network based on location, operator and other parameters will be created and utilized for benchmarking of the Austrian network operators. The software tool will be able to monitor the individual telecommunication nodes to estimate their performance in time.
Coexistence Between Dvb-T2 And Lte Systems In The 800 Mhz Band – A Measurement Methodology
Walach, Dominik
This article deals with the study of coexistence between DVB-T2 and LTE systems. Coexistence scenario between DVB-T2 and LTE systems in the 800 MHz UHF band is defined. Next, a laboratory workplace is realized, and a measurement methodology is proposed. Its functionality is verified by experimental measurements. The proposed concept also facilitates to test sensitivity of DVB-T2 receivers (set-top-boxes) against interfering LTE signals.
Testing of the LTE basic parameters
Hocz, Jan ; Miloš, Jiří (referee) ; Hanus, Stanislav (advisor)
This thesis deals with brief introduction to LTE system and processing of signal in uplink and downlink. There is also presented some basic parameters that must be met for correctly working equipment in system. These parameters are divided for transmitter and receiver. From these parameters were chosen those, which can be measured in school labs with available measurement devices. For measuring these parameters were created instructions. For easier record of measured data was prepared protocol with blank tables.
Evaluating the performance of mobile networks based on long-term measurements
Rehák, Ondrej ; Miloš, Jiří (referee) ; Slanina, Martin (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to choose the proper measurement system for evaluating the performance of the LTE mobile networks based on long-term measurements. The thesis describes mobile network LTE, its architecture and introducts the Quality of Service in the LTE. In the next part are studied the known measurement methods and furthermore, there is proposed a solution in the form of long-term measurement. This measurement uses the mobile phone application Open-RMBT, which stores the measurement results into the database on the chosen server. The following part focuses on the issue of choosing a suitable mobile device for the measurement, then it describes a pilot testing and the followed run of the long-term measurements. In the last part is introduced the interractive application to plot graphs. Measurement results are discussed in the conclusion.
Implementation of Communication Technology LTE Cat-M1 Utilizing the Network Simulator 3
Drápela, Roman ; Jeřábek, Jan (referee) ; Mašek, Pavel (advisor)
Diploma thesis deals with the implementation of LTE Cat-M1 technology in simulator NS--3 (Network Simulator 3). The theoretical part of the thesis summarizes key terms concerning IoT (Internet of Things), M2M (Machine-to-Machine) communication, LTE (Long Term Evolution) and LPWA (Low-Power Wide Area) networks. The practical part summarizes the possibilities of currently available modules for cellular technologies for NS-3, ie. the LENA module and the subsequent extension of LENA+ and ELENA. Simulation scenarios offer a comparison of LTE/LTE-A and LTE Cat-M1 (also known as eMTC - enhanced Machine Type Communication) technologies for M2M communication. The results of the simulations are well-arranged in the form of graphs and discussed at the end of the thesis.
Coexistence of LTE and LoRa in the 2.4 GHz ISM band
Potočňak, Martin ; Staněk, Miroslav (referee) ; Polák, Ladislav (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the study and measurement of coexistence scenarios that can occur between the LTE and LoRa systems in the unlicensed ISM band 2.4 GHz. A common radio frequency band in which LTE and LoRa systems can coexist is defined. An appropriate laboratory measurement is proposed and realized, allowing automatized measurement of the defined coexistence scenarios. For this purpose, a personal computer, professional measurement equipment and software MATLAB are utilized. Functionality of the proposed concept is verified by extensive measurements. The obtained results are graphically shown and discussed in detail.
