The topic of this thesis are coordinate systém using on area of the Czech republic for register properties. Main target of thesis is describe history and present coordinate systems using on area of the Czech republic, which are necessary to making map work. Another objective of the thesis is the evaluation of coordinate transformations.Thesis contains brief progress cartography and description of mathematical bases for making map work. Then is in the thesis described historical progress of coordinate systems on area of the Czech republic and coordinate systems using in present on our area. In the last kapitol are described transformation of coordinates.

The development of cartography according to selected world's cartographers

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to factually and clearly describe the development of cartography from the perspective of selected world cartographers through searches. The first part focuses on the explanation of terms related to this topic, the following one deals with the development of cartography itself which is divided into individual periods. Each of these periods includes a brief description of the development of cartography in selected countries and a brief overview of important cartographers for this particular period. In each of these periods, works of several cartographers are described, and they are also part of images and map attachments. The conclusion summarizes the historical significance of cartographic works for our present times.

Using ArcMap for processing cartographic work

Nowadays computers take part in most human activities. They help us process and store data and also enable us to provide file management. As a lot of specialised programmes have been developed recently for various subjects, it is possible to find a special mapping software for cartography work and making maps. An example of GIS (geographic information system) mapping software is ArcMap. This thesis sums up possible applications of ArcMap in cartography. These in particular include orthophotomap connection and digitization, georeferencing followed by bitmap digitization, display methods of hypsometry (contour line, raster, TIN), generalization tools, topographical symbols creation and editing, making thematic maps and variety of ArcMap outcomes.

The Historical maps available on the internet

With coming of digital technologies, cartography has changed a lot. Today?s cartographic products are usually created in the digital form, as vector drawings. These data are able to be published either in desktop applications or in the Internet.The data can be not only displayed, but they can be published by the Web Map Services technology. The data can be in an easy way joined to any GIS application keeping appropriate standards.

Why the Maps Don't Tell the Truth

This bachelor thesis describes and explains the causes, but also the possibility of deliberate "lying" maps. In the first chapter the reader is introduced with the basic concepts and types of cartographic map projections. The second chapter is devoted to mapping the history of Bohemia. The third chapter deals with the deliberate distortion maps, such as during wars. The fourth chapter discusses the errors that the maps should always be. The fifth chapter describes the issues that funny but also serious political machinations. The last chapter describes the role of maps in economics and marketing.
