Influence of social environment on children with diagnosis ADHD - significance of foreknowledge of parents and teachers
KRATOCHVÍLOVÁ, Martina
Abstract Social Environment Influence on Children with ADHD Diagnosis (Importance of Awareness among Parents and Teachers) ADHD syndrome diagnostics in children represents a demanding trial for parents, teachers, peers and the society in general nowadays. And for a child with ADHD syndrome as well of course, as it causes a lot of problems with inclusion into the society. It is important for parents, teachers but for the society in general to be sufficiently informed on ADHD syndrome and to be able to create favourable environment, in which the child development may be positively affected by outpatient treatment. This thesis deals with the problems of social environment influence on a child with ADHD diagnosis. It was aimed at mapping awareness of ADHD syndrome among parents and teachers. The quantitative research method by means of questioning was applied on the data processing. Questionnaires were distributed among primary school children parents and primary school teachers in South Bohemia. The questionnaires were anonymous, voluntary and contained 30 semi-open and closed questions for parents and teachers. 100 of 100 questionnaires distributed among parents and 70 of 75 questionnaires distributed among teachers were used for the research. The questionnaire return was high, 100% among parents and 93% among teachers. Hypothesis H1 "Parents seek for help of specialists for children with ADHD symptoms" has been confirmed. Hypothesis H2 "Teachers are well informed on ADHD issues"has been confirmed either. Hypothesis H3 "Teachers are able to advise parents where to find specialist assistance" has also been confirmed by the research. The awareness of the issues of applying special approach to children and cooperation between parents and teachers has proven well but its practical application is low. The research also shows that the opinion of most of the teachers, that ADHD syndrome is often perceived as an excuse for an ill-bred child nowadays is a big problem. Most of the parents are also convinced that teachers do not apply special approach to children with ADHD syndrome. Education in the field of complex approach in the care about children suffering from ADHD syndrome based on open communication between school and parents should be improved. Cooperation with external experts will be an integral part.

Child Protection Legislation and Problems in the Application Thereof
KADLEC, David
Child protection legislation provides the means and legal basis for appropriate child care in situations where the constructive development and life of a child are at risk. This bachelor thesis addresses the work of a youth curator, who, as a social worker of a child protection agency, applies such legislation in practice. The aim of this thesis was to highlight the problems of applying current child protection legislation and to propose ways forward and solutions. The sample was limited to a group of children with educational problems. The research methodology was based on qualitative research practices and techniques. An analysis of the content of the case records of children with educational problems was the main technique, which was later supplemented by a technique of non-standard interviewing. The research results are presented in the form of case studies accompanied by interviews. The case studies and interviews confirmed that existing child protection legislation can be applied to a wide range of situations. It followed from the discussion that the application of child protection legislation is faced in particular with problems of inconsistency in the practices used by different child protection institutions. These problems consequently impair the efficiency of the youth curator{\crq}s work. The creation of a policy establishing uniform procedures for all participating institutions or the establishment of a state institution to coordinate these processes would offer a way forward in tackling these issues.

Education the parents of children with malabsorption syndrome
ADAMOVÁ, Erika
Celiac disease, which is the most frequent cause of the malabsorption syndrome in children, is a common term for a worldwide occurring disease affecting both children and adults. It is a chronic disease characterized by a permanent gluten intolerance, malabsorption in consequence of typical inflammatory changes of the small intestine mucosa, and clinical improvement when a gluten-free diet is followed. The only casual treatment is a permanent and strict gluten-free diet. The objective of this thesis was to survey the knowledge of parents of children with the malabsorption syndrome. The other objective was to describe the role of a nurse in education of parents of children with the malabsorption syndrome. Two hypotheses were stated, one of them was confirmed, the other was rejected. One part of the thesis is formed by two research investigations aimed at finding the awareness of parents of children with celiac disease and also to assess how the knowledge and application of principles of an educational system have been implemented by nurses who take care of children with celiac disease and their parents. The survey was carried out by a quantitative research method. The data were collected by the anonymous questionnaire technique. The research set was comprised of parents of children with celiac disease and nurses working in paediatric and gastroenterology clinics. In the thesis two hypotheses had been set up, one of which was confirmed, the other was rejected. The first hypothesis assumed that parents of children with the malabsorption syndrome were informed about the nature of the disease and the need to follow a gluten-free diet. The results have shown that parents are sufficiently informed in these points, and therefore the hypothesis was confirmed. The other hypothesis assumed that nurses apply the principles of an educational process while providing information. But the research has shown that the vast majority of nurses do not know those principles and that is why they do not use them in practice. The hypothesis was not confirmed in this case.Enhancement through the use of educational principles in practice is recommended to improve the present care for children with a celiac disease and their parents. Nurses´ proficiency should be constantly boosted and deepened. The outcomes of this thesis can be presented at professional seminars and workshops in order to contribute to the improvement of this condition.
Nursing in children with diarrhoeal diseases
HEČKOVÁ, Šárka
This thesis deals with the problems of nursing in children with diarrhoeal diseases. Diarrhoea ranks the second most common disease in children and is often the reason for hospitalization because of its serious complications. Apart from the basis disease, admission to hospital represents a huge psychical stress for both a child and a family. Handling the situation depends also on the nursing personnel in a large extent. In the theoretical part you can find the division and specification of the most common causes, symptoms and basic treatment of diarrhoea. The theory is followed by the most common nursing problems developed during the nursing of children with diarrhoreal diseases. They include dehydration, pain, disrupted dermatic integrity, hyperthermia, loss of appetite, fear and anxiety. The possible causes of the occurence of nursing problems and their following solution are practically explained there. In the empirical part we dealt with the question if the presence of company leads to the hospitalization time shortening. For this purpose ten nursing records were noted. In five records the attention is paid to children hospitalized with the company of parents and further, five records of children hospitalized without the company of a close person are taken. After the analysis of the nursing records the following hypothesis resulted. Hypothesis 1: Permanent care to the limit of two nurses positively influences the adaptation of a child. Hypothesis 2: Presence of a company in a handicapped child leads to the hospitalization time shortening. Hypothesis 3: Nurses can influence the experience of children for their lifetime by their nursing. The nursing also includes the assesment and solution of nursing diagnoses. From the analysis of nursing documentation of hospitalized children (to the age of ten), the most common nursing diagnoses occuring in children with diarrhoeal diseases resulted. The presupposed hypothesis that the most often stated nursing diagnosis is the shotage of body fluids was proved. This result includes the fact that the need of fluids in babies and toddlers is considerably higher than in children and adults. Finally, it is possible to say that the results of the thesis advert to nursing problems which are solved during the care of children with diarrhoeal diseases. They can also help nurses realize the mistakes they make during the nursing of children with diarrhoeal diseases and improve the quality of nursing these children.
Issues associated with hospitalization of children with parents staying with them
ŽÁKOVÁ, Lucie
I chose the topic of my thesis-the problems of child´s hospitalization with parents at children´s ward, because ill children and in hospital should not stay alone. The care should be focused on their psychic and also on their parents who are afraid and worried about their child. In the theoretical part of my work the branch paediatrics is mentioned first, followed partly by history of children medicine and nursing. Contemporary system of children´s care is described and developmental periods of children are mentioned in short. Then concepts like health, illness, coping with illness in different age periods continue. Further chapters are devoted to the family of ill child, preparation for hospitalization and nursing process in child at the ward. Practical part is focused on parent´s and nurses´ opinion on the problems, their opinions whether they prefer hospitalization together with parent or just short-time visits of a child who is hospitalized. The data were investigated with the help of two kinds of questionnaires. The first one was established for nurses working at the ward, the other one was for parents or company of hospitalized children. It was found out that Hypothesis I:{\crqq}Parents prefer hospitalization with the child{\crqq} was confirmed. But Hypothesis II:``Nurses prefer in child´s hospitalization just short visits of parents{\crqq} was not confirmed because nurses prefer common hospitalization of parents and their children to short-time visits. The results of this thesis can be used both by children stations and other people who are interested in the problems.
The satisfaction of child´s needs in the establishment: nursery
KLABOUCHOVÁ, Lea
The bachelor thesis is aimed at the determination of the level of satisfying biological and psychical needs of children in facilities of the nursery-like type. Nurseries belong to special health-care facilities ensuring the all-round development of children in accordance with the provisions of Act 20/1996 of the Law Code, section 38. In the 1990s these facilities were mostly liquidated, now the attendance is about 1% of the children up to 1 year of age. However, nowadays the concept of nursery-like care seems to gain in importance. The objective of the thesis was to find if the nursery-like health care facilities can satisfy the child´s biological and psychical needs. The thesis elaboration was based on qualitative research, on the analysis of documents, methods of observation and interviews with the nurses in the facility as well as the parents of the observed children. The survey took place in Emil Pitter Nursery in České Budějovice. The facility belongs to the allowance organization network Nurseries and Shelters, České Budějovice. The sample consisted of eight children who regularly attended the facility. The case reports involved in the thesis comprise the information obtained at the stage of survey.
