Art therapy with children with learning disabilities

This thesis describes art therapeutic work with children suffering from learning disabilities (LDs) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The theoretical part of this thesis is based on specialized literature and focuses on the definition of learning disabilities and ADHD syndrome. Furthermore, possible causes of these disorders and also their consequences on the personality and life of an affected child are being discussed. In this theoretical part I also describe a care program for these children and include application of art therapy. I also focus on specific features at art works of children suffering from LDs and ADHD. In the practical part I present two case interpretation studies where art therapeutic procedures used in work with affected children are being described. Furthermore I describe art work progress of two boys. Here I focus on specific points connected with their disabilities and impact of these disorders on their personalities.
Reflection of Alzheimer's disease in graphic display

Bachelor's work "Reflection of Alzheimer's disease in graphic display" is divided into two parts. First part is theoretical and describes the issues of Alzheimer's disease and possible therapies, which are suitable for these persons. Here belongs also the Art therapy with persons who suffer from this dinase and desription of graphic techniques and materials, which are suitable at this type of illness. The fisrt part is ended by the charter, which describes the outlines of Alyheimer's dinase in graphic display mentioned in a literature. The second part of the work is practical and describes my experience as a therapist in the Alzheimercenter Filipov o. p. s. It contains chapters, which mention how the Art therapy in this facility is going on, what are the outlines of Alzheimer's disease in graphic display of patients and how the progress of the disease is projected into the graphic creation.
The motivation of preschool children for art and graphic activities during the free games

The Bachelor thesis deals with the motivation of preschool children to art and graphic activities; with what might motivate them to draw when playing games in the kindergarten. The theoretical part, which proceeds from the stated literature, is focused on the development of artistic expression and graphomotorics of preschool children. Attention is paid to the issue of motivation, but also to playing as a method of early childhood education and the role of a teacher in art-related games. The practical part of the thesis describes specific situations when children were motivated in creative ways. Reactions of individual children from a selected group on being motivated to focus on drawing are recorded and described. The practical part, therefore, includes suggestions on how to develop the drawing skills of preschool children.

The Bachelor thesis examines the possibilities of using art therapy on an adult male with organic psycho-syndrome. The aim of the thesis is to determine the effectiveness of individual art therapy in reduction of stress in a patient, who has been a victim of changes in the area of emotional perception and disorder of cognitive functions, connected with personality changes including changes in behaviour and motor-disorders. The aim is related with finding a new meaning of life, development of cognitive skills and abilities and better manages of unpleasant emotional frame of mind. It was discovered that individual art therapy method induces desired therapeutic change.
Art-therapy with the group of preschool children

The bachelor thesis deals with possibilities of art therapy with a group of pre-school children. It is divided into a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part consists of three main chapters. The first chapter is focused on specifics of the preschool period. It defines preschool age and describes developmental traits of a preschool child. The second chapter concerns preschool child's artistic expression. The last part deals with the art therapy work with preschool children. The practical part refers to a long-term art therapy work with a group of preschool children and describes the searching for the most acceptable inclusion of art therapy into the common run of a kindergarten. It reviews chosen art techniques and themes and the casuistry is focused on the chosen child's artistic expression variability with a reflection into other fields of expressions.
The specifics of art expression of children and adolescents with somatic problems

This bachelor thesis is focused on the work of art of children and adolescents with somatic problems. The goal of this thesis is to find out the specifics of artistic expressions of children and adolescents with somatic diseases.The theoretical part deals with somatic disease and its impact on the psyche of the child, the characteristics of the child's artistic expression, the diagnostic aspects of the artistic expression and the knowledge of the child's with somatic disease drawing.The practical part is based on my personal experience with the artistic creations of children and adolescents with somatic diseases admitted to the paediatric department. Artistic works with children and adolescents in the hospital became an incentive for asking these questions: What are the common features of the artistic expressions among children and adolescents with long-term chronic diseases? What are the common features of the work of art among children and adolescents with paroxysmal diseases?Are there the differences in the work of children and adolescents with long-term chronic diseases in comparation with the work of children and adolescents with paroxysmal diseases? In the practical part I expound the work of art of children and adolescents with somatic problems, try to find out the common features in their artistic expressions and to answer the asking questions.
Development of creative processing of the first field of the Wartegg drawing test durring the art therapy process

The bachelor thesis is focused on development of creative processing of the first field of color modification Wartegg drawing test (WZT) in the context of an art therapy process durring the bachelor training in the art therapy at the studio of art-therapy at the Paedagogical Faculty of South Bohemian University in České Budějovice. The aim of the research is to describe the formal and substantive characteristics in the development of creative processing of the first field WZT and interpretative potential of the characteristics in the art therapy. Theoretical part describes the projective methods, graphic projective techniques, Wartegg drawing test and its color modification, artistic expression and its ontogeny and art therapy with a focus on Rožnov school of art therapy. The empirical part deals with formal and content processing site of the first field WZT and their potential practical use in the art therapy.
Drug addiction in art

Annotation The thesis is focused on tracing typical moments in art production of drug addicts. The theoretical part focuses on depth psychology oriented psychological movement of Sigmund Freud that is a mutual theoretical resource for both the Art Therapy management in Psychiatric Hospital Cerveny dvur and the Therapeutic Community Vrsicek. I am devoted to the concept of personality and I also describe the various stages of personal development. In addition, I try to define addiction, the personality of drug addict and I elaborate methods of Roznov Art Therapy. I will focus on the ontogeny of art expression and art typology. I draw individual workplaces that have inspired my reflections. What are the positives and the negatives of art methodological guidance? Are there any common features in the artifacts from both workplaces that we could not find in "normal"population? The practical part is based on my personal therapeutic experience with drug addicts. I try to find out typical moments in artistic production of drug addicts and at the same time I use art production created by "normal" population. In the epilogue of this thesis, I compare the art production of drug-addicted clients with "normal" population. I will highlight the importance of artistic expression and methodological guidance.
Artistic expression via methods of training memory and cognitive abilities in senior citizens.

The thesis deals with the use of artistic expression in methods to train the cognitive functions of the elderly. The theoretical part includes a summary of findings about aging and old age and explains the importance of stimulating the elderly in our republic. It also deals with characteristic features of artistic expression and artheterapy for elderly. In the practical part methods are described which exploit artistic expression in enhancing cognitive functions not only in elderly people with dementia within the framework of the stimulation programme in old people's homes but also, by means of voluntary memory training courses. The author tries to ascertain the extent how art therapy methods can be applied in these programmes in such a way that the two approaches could complement, supplement and enrich each other.
