The work of Jakub Bursa and its relation to typologic similar buildings

This thesis deals with the life and work of the South Bohemian bricklayer Jakub Bursa. The first part is an introduction to settlements and farms which are distinguished by the type of ground plan. Individual parts of village homesteads are described and then biographical data about Jakub Bursa follows. The second, main, part deals with individual buildings by Jakub Bursa which are arranged chronologically by date of their origin. Basically, all the workt of Jakub Bursa are included. In the last part there is a comparison of his work with buildings in the close surroundings. The are selected buildings it the nearest villages which have similar of identical elements to those that were used by Jakub Bursa.
"Krankengeschichte" of Georg Buquoy. Description of disease like a document of life

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to produce a critical edition and perform an analysis of the description of diseases, which is deposited (in the form of a manuscript) in Georg Franz Buquoy?s estate in the State Regional Archives in Třeboň. The document is interpreted in the context of the contemporary reflections of state of health, while emphasising the specific traits of the author?s personality. The treatise is understood as an intimate confession, a unique document of Buquoy?s way of thinking, which also betrays the influence of the philosophical and intellectual currents. The treatise further contains information potentially relevant for the history of medicine, further study of Buquoy?s biography and the research of the everyday culture of the early 19th century.
The Czech - German dialog at life and writings of nationalist, priest and educator František Pravda
BÍLKOVÁ, Martina
Submitted diploma thesis describes the life of priest František Pravda, born Vojtěch Hlinka. He was well-known writer and founder of short stories with rural theme. The thesis introduces Hlinka as a writer, but primarily as a man of many other professions and interests. The way of life brought him to Hrádek u Sušice to work for an aristocratic family of Sturmfeders. Attention is concerned with mutual relations between the Czech patriot and four generations of German baronial family. Hlinka worked as an educator of feeble-minded Ottokar Sturmfeder in Hrádek´s castle. His extraordinary psychopaedics talent is compared with usual provincial and European contemporary standards. There is also depicted Hlinka´s political, writing and religion career and his other interests. The thesis doesn´t overlook Hlinka´s contacts with important representatives of artistic and political life, which helps to complete the picture of Hlinka´s personality.
Position of Indians in Mexico in 19th and 20th century

The aim of this work is a continuous study of situation of indigenous population during origin and formation of Mexican nation. The pioneers of American Poetry of the 19th Century

Diploma work presents the Poetics of Emily Dickinson and Walt Whitman as a big influence on traditional American Literary development. Their work brought a new view of traditional Poetry in 19th century, which affected the whole status of traditional American culture. Their styles of writing had an effective impact on American Literature and shaped the new image of Poetry. One of the purposes of this diploma work is to introduce historical and literary-philosophical background of the period of 19. century, which influenced their lives and work as well. Then the diploma work demonstrates the Poetry of Walt Whitman and Emily Dickinson and compares their work afterwards according to the chosen topics appearing in their poems. To summarise the whole diploma work there is the analyse of the similarities and differences in the poetry of both poets.
The Women of literature salons: Madame de Stäel and Maria Anna von Schwarzenberg

In Paris, in 1766 was born one of the most famous saloniérs at the turn of the 18. century Anne-Luise-Germaine de Necker later known as Madame de Staël. Only one year later came Marie Anna von Hohenfeld to life, later married to Schwarzenberg noble family, who was one of the important organizers of literature salons in Vienna.What influence had the interest on French milieu on Anna Maria and what influence had on the contrary the travels through Germany on Madame de Staël? What was common for these two women and what was different? What were their views about education, politics, culture and how they lived their religion?This diploma thesis is an attempt to unconventional images these two women, their salons, culture influences and above all motivations for organizing social life.The thesis results from yet not processed sources to Maria Anna as well as from published studies to Madame de Staël and salons as well. The thesis will certainly not to repeat what was written previously and to outline still missing comparison of mental worlds of both noblewomen.
The Thypology of Czech travelogue to the Orient, resulting in the second half of the 19th century.

The aim of this diploma thesis is to do a typology of the czech books of travel to the Orient written during the second half of the 19th century or the turn of the 19th and 20th century. Typology will be created on the basis of comparative analysis of morphology and thematic parts of the relevant texts. The basis for comparacy are the texts Vítězslav Hálek, Jan Neruda, František Klement, Alois Musil and Josef Kořenský. The work also insight to the development of travel literature, readers will also zoomed history of travel to the Oriental area.
The Grammar school of J. V. Jirsík in years 1868-1918

The diploma thesis is aimed at the development of the first Czech grammar school in České Budějovice during the years 1868 - 1918. It is based on a study of specialized literature and archival resources deposited in the State District Archives České Budějovice. The first part of the thesis deals with the general history of the primary and secondary education in the Czech lands and the South Bohemia. The second part is focused on the development of the grammar school in the period surveyed. The main target is both teaching and students. The analysis of the students includes not only their territorial and social origin but also their religion and length of studies. The final part of the thesis is concerned with the teachers of the grammar school.
The rectory and the church in Lišov at the time of "the long" 19th century
ŠPERŇÁKOVÁ, Jana
The thesis shows everyday life in south Bohemian rectory Lišov in the years 1789-1914. The authoress used mostly sources preserved in the State District Archives in České Budějovice in the funds of Parish Office Lišov and District Office České Budějovice I, in the State Regional Archives in Třeboň in the fond Bishop{\crq}s Office and from sources of the Land Register Office in České Budějovice. The work is divided into seven chapters, introduction and conclusion. The first chapter is based upon specialized literature and describes the development of a church administration in Bohemian countries in observed period. In other chapters the authoress describes the rectory Lišov, its administration development and its economy; she also mentions social conditions of rectory{\crq}s inhabitants. The work then considers a chapter about church in Lišov, its renovation and people, who ensured the daily operation of the parish and the church. The thesis also describes a life of one of the rectory{\crq}s inhabitants in the beginning of the 20th century. The work outlines life at country rectory in the time of fast changing and modernizing 19th and the beginning of 20th century. Textual and picture supplements included.
Theologian - polemist Antonin Lenz (1829-1901). The Beginnings of Theological Anthropology in Bohemian Countries.
VEBER, Tomáš
Tomáš Veber´s dissertation thesis is recording the beginnings of theological anthropology in Bohemian countries. These are reflected at Antonín Lenz writings. Antonín Lenz (1829 ? 1901) was the professor of theology in České Budějovice, later the residentiary and the prior on Vyšehrad. He entered his name in history, as a pioneer of neotomism. He wrote and thought in spirit of neotomistic theology long time before the publishing of the papal encyclical Aeterni patris (1879), written by Leo XIII. The author is introducing Antonín Lenz not only as theologian, but also as important polemist, arguing against the liberals, and as critic of turbulent progress too. This thesis is presenting some new reports to history of theology, as well as Church history and history of 19th century in general.
