The topic of this graduation thesis is chair design. The thesis is split into theoretical and practical part. Firstly, the general examination of the history of sitting and the evolution of chair design is carried out via literature recherché. This search advances in current and prospective trends in chair design and its manufacture. The last theoretical chapter is focused on anthropometric, ergonomic, constructional, and safety requirements. Simultaneously, this chapter serves as a stepping stone for the practical part the goal of which is to fabricate a chair prototype. The design process goes through individual phases of creative work, inspirations, sketching, choosing the best solution, making of a 1:2 scale model, 3D visualization, and lastly realization of a prototype chair. The work concludes with discussion and critical assessment of the prototype.
Joyce Travelbee's Inspiration for Nursing
STASKOVÁ, Věra
Currently there are noticable changes in nursing concepts, shifts in thinking and attitude towards nursing. Unlike in the past, when nursing care was provided in accordance with the biomedical model, current nursing shows attempts at greater use of interaction models reflecting a holistic approach and humanism. This fact was pointed out in the 1960's by Joyce E. Travelbee, a New Orleans psychiatric nurse, educator and nursing theoretician. The disseration intituled 'Joyce E. Travelbee's Inspiration for Nursing' is of theoretical character with the aim of analysing the legacy of Joyce E. Travelbee as a nursing history personality and her work with a tendency to express her significance for nursing. It is concieved as a historical-analytical study and a zpracována formou studia literárního odkazu a jeho analýzy s následným vypracováním interpretativního textu. In connection with the study of literary legacy and its analysis questions, for which the answers were sought, were asked: How did Joyce E. Travelbee reflect current nursing practice? What suggestions did she make in changing current attitude towards patients? What is key to longterm contribution of Joyce E. Travelbee as a theoretitian to the nursing concept? Which of Joyce E. Travelbee's ideas and literary legacies are inspirational for nursing? The contents and meaning of some terms are set out in Chapter 1. Chapter 2 reflects the development of nursing as a theory, science and practice in a chronological order and also on a national and international level, especially the period, in which Joyce E. Travelbee (1926-1973) lived and formulated her ideas. The chapter was conceived in the sense of referring to the ideas and work of individual nursing theoreticians in connection with contributions to nuring theory and practice. Chapter 3 is dedicated to the personality Joyce E. Travelbee, her biography, publishing activity and specialist texts relating to her person and work bases. Chapter 4 interprets the work of Joyce E. Travelbee. The chapter is divided into four sub-chapters with the aim of illustrating the logical sequence in the development of ideas in Joyce E. Travelbee's work. The first part deals with nursing from Joyce E. Travelbee's point of view, in the second part space is given to introduced concepts in Joyce E. Travelbee's work, the third part focusses on the explanation of the human-to-human relationship concept and the fourth part deals with nursing supervision as a tool for forging human relationships. The fifth chapter was concieved with the aim of pointing out the fact that Joyce E. Travelbee's work has been an inspiration for the authors of many publications, research studies, dissertations, contributions on web pages, and for international scientific conferences participants. Interpretation analysis of primary and secondary text sources showed that an inspirational change in nursing is that of nurse-patient and patient-nurse attitudes and the emphasis on satisfying patients' needs as well as nurses' needs. Changes in attitude can be seen in nursing education which should prepare nurses for satisfying patients' emotional and spiritual needs with an emphasis on empathy, sympathy and rapport. One of the possibilities of achieving this change in nurses' education is to include more communicative exercises, philosophy, psychology and the clarification of values in nursing educational programmes the training of nurses in self reflection, critical thinking and carrying out of supervision.

The devaluation of men/women occurs during social contacts and even in health service, situations leading to devaluation may occur due to unconscious and unaware communication. For mutual contacts of the (para)medical employee and the patient, not only a good knowledge of psychology, but first of all the ability to apply adequately communication skills in practice is necessary. The patient should not represent for medical staff only diagnosis, but first of all he/she should be seen as a human being. Behavior of (para)medical employees should be supporting and strengthening, it should not only contribute to a quick recovery, but also to the psychological balance and well-being of patients. Three goals were postulated for the purposes of this thesis. The first goal was to find out if the devaluation of men/women by a (para)medical employee occurs during the hospitalization. It follows from the results of the research that situations of patient devaluation by the medical employee occur really. The purpose of the second goal was to find out the ways of person devaluation during the hospitalization. It follows from the investigation that the devaluation may take place in different ways. The research questions cover practically with this goal. The most frequent way of devaluation is unsuitably conducted communication of medical employees. The third goal was to find out if the medical staff has an impact on the devaluation of man. Patients do not have experience with an arrogant behavior but consider it as devaluing. It was found out by the investigation that the personal staff has an affects the devaluation of man because individual members of the nursing team contributes to the devaluation of the patient. These, was confirmed by the answers of patients in quantitative research. The respondents believe that the number of the medical staff rather does not support evaluation of the patients. The role of Felidae in the environmental dissemination of human pathogenic unicelular parasites
GRYM, Ondřej
One hundred cats at different levels of habituation, house kept and free living, from Czech republic were screened for the presence of Cryptosporidium, Encephalitozoon spp. and Enterocytozoon bieneusi to consider the risk of close human - cat contact on cryptosporidial and microsporidial infections. The prevalence of Cryptosporidium, Encephalitozoon, and Enterocytozoon bieneusi in cats was determined from fecal specimens by genus-specific PCR. All PCR-positive specimens were sequenced to determine the genotype present. Out of 100 cats, three (3 %) were positive for Cryptosporidium, namely C. felis. Nine cats (9 %) were infected with E. bieneusi genotype D. None out of 35 house kept cats was infected with any tested parasites. No effect of age of animals on occurrence both Cryptosporidium and microsporidia was proved. To our knowledge, this is the first report on the presence of zoonotic species/genotypes of Cryptosporidium, and E. bieneusi in cats in the Czech republic.
Ethical concept in Nick Cave's literary world
EDL, Tomáš
The bachelor thesis is a philosophical reflection of ethical aspects of Nick Cave's literary world. Particularly from the theological point of view, the author of thesis considers a possibility of a coherent ethical concept formation of the Cave's literary world, which is not in a contradiction with behaviour of Cave's characters regarding the moments of moral decision-making. As a key argument for the uneasiness to form any coherent ethical concept, is considered to be Cave's preference of morality and refusing morals in the concept which is being presented. The author suggests the hypothesis of the unitary nature of conscience of Cave's characters as a possible ethical concept of the Cave's literary world.
