Persecution of Jews in our Territory in the Years 1935 - 1942
ČERNÁ, Tereza
My dissertation focuses on the problem of the persecution of Jews in the years 1935-1942. This issue is being described in relation to the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, as it is infamous for its Nuremberg race laws of 15 September 1935. By these laws Jewish inhabitans were marginalized, disinherited and expropriated and so new ground was broken for the Nazi to so called "final solution of the jewish issue". My dissertation tries to describe particular protectorate laws and statutory rules, which affected jewish lifes in such fatal way during this period. One of the important elements of my thesis is also an overview of the most vital sources of anti-Semitism throughout history. This overview culminates by the treatise on the theory of races, which represent the cornerstone of the Nazi ideology. The last chapter treats of emigration as the only possibility to escape from the Nazi terror and save one´s bare life.

Graphic realization of a book: Bible for children
UHLÍŘOVÁ, Lucie
My thesis should combine all three specializations of my study, art education, civics and pedagogic. The objective of my work is creating an author{\crq}s book of Bible stories for children. The main idea is to approach Bible to atheists, or more precisely to unbelieving children. I entitled the theoretic part of the thesis Bible {--} What For? I explain there, why also an atheist should know Bible. I examine Bible from various points of view. I search the importance of Bible for different groups of people (believing, not believing, children, artists...), I think out the relation Bible {--} art, I write also about Bible in education. One chapter is about some sayings, names and other things, which come from Bible and we use them in common language. Also my personal experience with Bible has its place in my thesis. In the last chapter I describe the procedure of work on the practical part. In the practical part of the thesis I targeted the Old Testament. I retelled some stories from the Old Testament, so as they are suitable for children. Those stories I accompanied with a collection of ilustrations. They are made by lino {--} cutting. The collection contains 19 whole-page pictures, 5 half-page pictures, 3 little pictures and the book-jacket). I put my texts and ilustrations together to a book. The final design of the book is also a part of my thesis. I entitled this book of stories First Step to Bible.
Monuments of the Jewish Settlement in Heřmanův Městec
BURSOVÁ, Petra
In my thesis I´m dealing with preserved Jewish relics in Heřmanův Městec, the Chrudim region. First of all I just briefly mention the organization of Jewish community in Czech territory, then I examine and search Jewish settlement in Heřmanův Městec from its beginnings until today. Among still standing sights I name especially the synagogue, which was many times destructed. Thanks to the extensive reconstruction it could again come into service, but nowdays it only serves as a cultural tabernacle. Next preserved relic is the building of Jewish school located at close quarters of the synagogue and it´s much newer. Last but not the least I mention the old cemetery, which belongs to the oldest and the largest ones in the Czech Republic. This Jewish dominant feature of Heřmanův Městec is nowdays under the administration of the Jewish Community in Prague.
Jews in Jihlava and the Moravian part of the Jihlava County
ŠINKOVSKÁ, Jana
This diploma thesis is devoted to the history of Jewish inhabitants of Jihlava and surrounding Moravian villages. The core of the work lies in the history and present life of this regions' Jewish population and in depicting the history and present condition of the regions' objects of Jewish cultural heritage (including long perished objects). The work draws on research into nation-wide as well as regional literature and period sources (archive materials, press). At the same time, a substantial part of the work reflects the author's personal knowledge of the present condition of objects of Jewish cultural heritage preserved in the region. This work is a comparison of historical sources. In most cases, the Jewish population came to an end due to Nazi racial persecution; therefore, it was not possible to link the present condition to the history of the region's population. On the other hand, the part dealing with objects of Jewish cultural heritage enabled linking historical sources with the present conditions and particular findings in individual villages.
