Financial analysis Philip Morris ČR a.s.

Financial analysis of Philip Morris ČR a.s. aims to illustrate the financial situation of the years 2005 -- 2009. There is a theoretical description of all methods applied in the first part: horizontal and vertical analysis, financial ratios and working capital, bankruptcy and financial standing models and performance evaluation of the company according to EVA. The second part describes the analyzed company, and there are applied the theoretical models. The individual results are then interpreted. In this part is the company also compared with its competitor. The final part of this work answers the question, if the company is, or is not, a financial strong company.

Assessment of the predictive ability of prediction models

The subject of my work is to test the predictive ability of prediction models applied on companies "MEDEA a.s" and "Šarišské pekárny a cukrárny a.s." The theoretical section summarizes the main knowleadge of the prediction models- their division, the method of classifying businesses, discriminant analysis procedure and descriptions of selected prediction models used in the practical part. The practical section is aimed to assess the prognostic ability of the selected prediction models for predicting collapse of the "MEDEA a.s" in contrast with the correct predicted favorable financial situation in comparing company "Šarišské pekárny a cukrárny a.s." The results are then presented in the tables individually and collectively with the success percentage of each model.

Predictions of financial distress of a company through financial analysis methods

This bachelor thesis is aimed at comparison and evaluation of financial health of the company Novako Jihlava s.r.o., which has been undergoing insolvency proceeding since April 2009 and the company Stavona, spol. s.r.o., which seems to be prosperous. The aim of the work was to determine whether the methods of financial analysis(particularly solvency and bankruptcy models) could predict the fall of the company Novako Jihlava s.r.o. At the same time were compared the prediction of particular models.
A judgment of the predicability efficiency of the prediction models on the basis of financial statements of the Altreva Ltd. and Jitex Inc. corporations

The thesis deals with the predicability efficiency of prediction models, which represents integral part of financial analysis. These models could be divided into bankruptcy prediction and solvency models. The aim of the listed models is to determine level of financial health of selected companies with a few year prospects. As a representative of the companies, which went bankrupt, was selected Jitex Inc., which fold in 2009 and going concerns represents Altreva Ltd. In the theoretical part various financial ratios and prediction models are described with their expected characteristics. These descriptions also include explenation of models construction. The practical part provides concrete results of used prediction models and financial ratios of Altreva and Jitex. A special attention is paid to Jitex Inc. in 2006, where the prediction models could be misjudged by high level of artificially overvalued profit. The practical aim of this study is an extensive specification of tests along with their suitability to predict fitness of companies within the Czech economy framework.
