The Status and Role of the Mayor in the Context of Local Government

Thesis deals with a local government in the Czech Republic, particulary with normative duties of the mayors and knowledge of the performance of their duties. Theoretical chapter of the thesis defines mainly normative area of the performance and municipality mayors function in the Czech Republic. Practical part of the thesis concentrates on assessement of mayors (from selected villages) awareness of their duties and awareness of real options they have to gain the information for the performance of their job. Key data are obtained through the semistructured interview with the mayors of selected villages.Thesis came to result, that the mayors gain the information about their duties during their active work. Thesis also valorized the possibilities of education.

Decision of local government in setting up the job an occupational firefighters

This thesis is concerned with an occupational firefighters of volunteer firefighters units who are employees of the municipality or city as a founder of the fire brigade, particularly through the establishment and funding of such jobs with a focus on application possibilities additional financing in the form of the announced funding from public institutions and local government units. In this thesis is to decipher justify the creation of such jobs with a
list of benefits for the embattled community, and of course the implications are with this little-known phenomenon linked, what is the sustainability of such jobs - volunteer
firefighters to full-time employment, as well as the legal framework for this system.
The thesis is also including a practical enumeration and distribution of affected units below split criteria, making this work may serve as a basic tool in the decision-making process, municipalities considering establishing at least one job firefighter by profession, since such a comprehensive manual review is still there and it is not methodologically unified in the Czech Republic. Final thesis also deals with the integration of employees - an occupational firefighters to public administrations basic local government unit, including subordination in the decision-making process and governance structure.

Political Aspects of Municipal Authorities- Case study of Town district Prague 10

Althought many renowned political scientists, sociologists and economists are concerned with voting behavior of electorate on the national level the study of voting behavior on the municipal level paradoxically remains marginalized. The main objective of this Bacher thesis is to use one of the models of voting behavior, which is used to interpret voting of electorate on the national level to communal level and assess its meaningful ability. Selected area for this study is Town district Prague 10 and choosen concept of voting behavior is model of party identification. Partial main objective of this Bacher thesis is also to find out if there is some kind of relationship between an extent of party identification and socioeconomical factors affecting voters of this town district. Elemental socioeconomical factors, which size of impact is observed in this Bacher are sex, age, level of education, economic status and religion.

Legal regulation of position of a mayor of a municipality

This thesis deals with the legal of position of a mayor of a municipality. The thesis has two parts: a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part deals with the history of position of the mayor, the powers, the duties, the responsibility of the mayor, the relation of the mayor with other authority of a municipality and the elaction of the mayor. The practical part has two parts: the direct election and the actual legal position of the mayor. The own resarch is based by the questionnaire and the interviews. The chapter of the election contains the proposition model of the election and the opinions of the mayors on this problems. The chapter of the actual legal position deals with the opinions of the mayors on their authority and responsibility, they have in their position. After, the results of the theoretical and practical part sum up the upshot.

The Development of Local Government in the Municipality Praha - Zličín

The diploma thesis concerns the local Government and municipal politics in district Praha, Zličín. The thesis is focused on the development of local Government in the period after 1989. The subject of the thesis is analysis of municipal political system and the participation of citizens in public life in the district. The thesis is depart into theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with basic concepts related to local governments e.g. Delimitation of municipalities, municipal politics and electoral systems in the country.
The practical part contains the characteristics of Praha, Zličín. It also focuses on local authorities and their representatives and municipal management in the years 2010 - 2014. The practical part includes an analysis of municipal elections in 1994 - 2014.

The process of Setting Up the Local Government in the Municipality of Prestice

This bachelor thesis is focused on the local political processes in the town of Prestice. The case study elaborated will help to reveal the key factors and principles of the local authorities and their functioning and forming.
The bachelor thesis is divided into two main parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part discusses the commonly used terminology. Individual chapters deal with definition of the terms such as municipality and local authorities and their competences and powers. Other issues discussed are local democracy, local political subjects, electoral system in the Czech Republic and explanation of the associated terminology such as the candidate list, right to vote, political party, coalition or electoral formula.
The second part of the bachelor thesis practically analyses the situation in the town of Prestice. The history of the town and its economical and political development are described; geographic location of the town, its demographic composition of population and its main socio-economical indicators are introduced in this part. Particular data and their nature are compared to nationwide data, which provides the corresponding value for the classification of the town of Prestice within the Czech Republic.

My diploma thesis is mainly focusing on analyzing the potential of chosen site and it’s possibilities to be used for building a community center. Designed building should serve as a starting point for revitalization of Ponava. It is designed in a way, which makes this building an icon of the whole revitalization process and also is offering a wide variety of cultural events. In a combination with proposed solution for traffic and people flow a meeting point for a wide spectrum should be achieved with designed building as a podium for city life. Office block is then stepping out a bit from this coulisse and is the most dominant part which is supporting the other cantilevered volumes. By doing so, the important role of municipality is captured in the image of the building itself.

Its theoretical part sums sup the most important pieces of knowledge concerning municipality functioning and money management of municipality. The practical part comprises the analyses of the status of municipality money management in the field of budget receipts and budget expenditures. In terms of previous pieces of knowledge, there are defined proposals for improving money management and contribution of municipality.

Budget Observance in the Particular Conditions of the City District Prague 14

This Bachelor Thesis deals, in general, with local government units, incomes and expenses of municipality and then analyzes, in detail, the situation in City District of Prague 13. All the incomes, expenses, means of financing and the economic situation during period between 2007 -- 2009 are thoroughly inspected. This paper also outlines the issues behind European Union funds, through which City District draws assets for their own projects.
