Fear and anxiety in connection with acute cases

Fear and distress in relation to emergency situations. The purpose of this essay is to learn about position of health rescuers and patients in acute, life and health endangering situations. The objective of the work was to identify how patients feel in crisis and acute situations and what type of intervention is most effective. Method: the research included two sections. The first section was in the form of a pilot research based on qualitative method of non-standardized interview with limited number of patients and health rescuers. Results of this pilot research served as basis for selection of specific circumstances and issues related to fear and distress and questions were formulated for an extended research performed with larger group of respondents. The group of pilot research respondents included 5 health rescuers and 4 patients rescued by ambulance. The consequential extended research was conducted with 8 health rescuers and 8 patients rescued by ambulance. The research took place in South Bohemia and Karlovy Vary region. Results: rescuers are aware of the fact that fear and distress of patients are important factors affecting the overall condition of the patient. They would appreciate extensions of their professional training by special training focused on this subject, since most of them act only based on their own experience in such situation. Results of the research indicate that patients do not differ between terms fear and distress. Most of patients experience distress caused by something unknown rather than fear from specific danger or situation. In most cases patients consider psychological support and help provided by health rescuers to be positive.

Contribution to the knowledge of ethology of Alsatian

The aim of the work was to describe the model situations - the behaviour of dogs. Aggression, dominance, fear and submission were evaluated. Three dogs {--} two five-year-old Alsatians, which were brothers, and 13-year-old hybrid of the Alsatian were used for testing. Model situations were based on the work of R. Abrantes. All situations were studied between brothers and in unrelated relationship. It was found that between brothers the hierarchy typical of kennel was formed. In extreme situations the two brothers fought together against the third elder dog.

Postavenie rozvojových krajín v mechanizme urovnávania sporov WTO

Mechanizmus urovnávania sporov so záväznou autoritou je jedinečným rysom Svetovej obchodnej organizácie, ktorým sa odlišuje od väčšiny ostatných medzivládnych organizácií. Členská základňa Svetovej obchodnej organizácie je značne rôznorodá, čo sa prejavilo aj pri účasti na procesoch riešenia sporov. Väčšina rozvojových krajín a takmer všetky najmenej rozvinuté krajiny ani raz nevyužili WTO systém urovnávania sporov a účasť krajín G4 je neprehliadnuteľná. Je zrejmé, že tieto krajiny čelia značným prekážkam, ktoré im bránia plne využiť systém pri ochrane svojich práv. Problém nedostatku ?ľudských kapacít? je základným problémom, na ktorý nadväzujú aj ostatné. Problém finančných kapacít značne spomaľuje proces zapojenia sa do systému urovnávania sporov a navyše prehlbuje problém s nedostatkom kvalifikovaných pracovných síl, potrebných pri riešení sporu. Nie malú úlohu zohráva u chudobných krajín strach z im poskytnutých preferenčných prístupov na trhy vyspelých ekonomík. Schopnosť rozvojových krajín vedieť účinne použiť systém urovnávania sporov je jedným z najdôležitejších faktorov, aby mohli plne profitovať zo svojho členstva v organizácii. Jedným z prostriedkov, ako pristupovať k riešeniu tejto situácie, je podpora pri budovaní a rozvíjaní ich ?obchodných kapacít?.
