The comparison of the level of the unemployment of the villages of the region Písek to the level of the unemployment of the villages of the Strakonice
MARTÍŠKOVÁ, Petra
The thesis deals with unemployment in the countryside (rural areas). Showing specific economic problems, the countryside can be considered as a specific part of the Czech Republic from this point of view. One of the most serious issues is unemployment, when unemployment in the countryside reaches higher rates than are those in towns and cities. One of possible solutions to territorial development is building industrial zones which facilitates development of entrepreneurial activities and creation of new job opportunities. The aim of the thesis is to compare unemployment rates in people living in villages in the Písek region and those living in villages in the Strakonice region with regard to the function and quality of industrial zones in both regions. I refer to the Certificate of accreditation of the industrial zone in Písek which guarantees quality and functioning of the zone.
Influence of Unemployment on Tuberculosis Distribution in the Czech Republic in 2000-2007
SOPROVÁ, Martina
This degree work dealt with the relation between the occurrence of TBC and the unemployment rate in the Czech Republic between 2000-2007. The work researched whether an increase or decrease in the unemployment rate in the Czech Republic influenced changes in the occurrence of TBC. The work was based on an analysis of data from the Authority of Medical Informatics and Statistics regarding the occurrence of TBC and analysis of the number of unemployed people as stated by the Czech Statistics Bureau. The hypothesis {--} with an increasing number of unemployed people the number of people suffering from TBC is increasing in the Czech Republic {--} was confirmed. Results of the research showed that it is necessary to deal with this issue regularly and intensely and that none of us may remain indifferent towards unemployed people (regardless of the fact whether they suffer from TBC or not) because each of use can suddenly become unemployed. Work has ranked among natural human activities for about ten thousand years. It is the most reliable and longest social support in people{\crq}s lives and its loss usually results in a serious disruption of mental and physical health.
Unemployment and its impact on number of elective surgeries at surgery department
HÁLOVÁ, Magdaléna
SUMMARY A surgery ward is one of the crucial departments in the České Budějovice Hospital. It provides a highly specialized care not only to patients from the district of České Budějovice, but also to people from the whole South-Bohemian region. Nearly 4,000 patients are treated in this ward every year. In my work I focused on a group of people who are able to work, but at the time of hospitalization they had no job and were registered in the employment agency and they came to the surgical ward for optional surgeries. The reasons why they did so could be as follows: they either neglected the care of their health due to a large amount of tasks at work, or they postponed the surgery since they were worried that they could lose their job due to a long sick leave. The objective of the work was to identify the influence of employment on decisions of clients to undergo surgeries. Questionnaires were used to gather data; they were distributed to patients hospitalized in the surgical ward of Nemocnice České Budějovice a.s. (the České Budějovice Hospital). The hypothesis which assumed that people registered in the employment agency for a short time have more surgeries than people registered in the employment agency for a long time was confirmed in the degree work. The second hypothesis assuming that people registered in the employment agency have more optional surgeries than employed people was confirmed as well. The third hypothesis where I assumed that the fees charged for hospital stays would influence the length of hospitalization of unemployed people was not confirmed since political changes resulted in the conclusion of a donation agreement between Nemocnice České Budějovice, a.s. and the South-Bohemian region; the agreement enables people to take advantage of the South-Bohemian region{\crq}s donation to cover the hospital fees starting from 1 February 2009. The results of my work could be used as arguments in solving the unemployment policy.

The aim of my final thesis was to concentrate on the problems of single mothers in shelters and find out, which services are offered to single mothers. While analyzing this problem also other aspects were watched: from what social background do single mothers come to shelters, what is the most common reason for coming there, what do not they like in shelters, if they have any problems to get used to schedule of shelter and what is the most limiting factor for returning to independent life. For the empiric part of my final thesis was chosen qualitative approach and method of semidirected conversation. At the end of the work were determined steps, based on the analyzed date, which can be used practically.
Information in the social sphere for the citizens jeopardized by a social exclusion
FICHTNEROVÁ, Eva
The research of my bachelor work was focused on the issue how much are information necessary and interesting for the people jeopardized by a social exclusion, if they properly get to them and if they have the right form. There is a lot of information in the social sphere and they are important for all of us. From the questionnaires I gave to the people in the sanctuary House of St. Paul and in the streets of České Budějovice I received many answers significant for the knowledge of our community and for my job in public relations with Městská charita České Budějovice (a charitable non-governmental organization). In theoretical part of my work I described general causes and specific problems associated with the life of the excluded citizens, especially their difficulties with the employment, health state, problems with information and communication barriers with organizations and institutions, examples of their excluded or homeless life, possibilities how to return to the common life. In relation to the social services I stated some fundamental legislature. In the practical part I concentrated on the question of a passing and preferred forms of information among them. Answers I got brought me to improvements even in my job (for example a better marking to the sanctuary house from the railway station, maps on the web sites with a marking of the way and the bus stop, more brochures with information in the railway station). I learned that homeless people would be very glad to obtain some knowledge in the field of information technologies and I recommended Internet courses for them. I realized, that all the people living in the street, are interested in information and the most essential way, how to provide information to them, is a street-work.
UNEMPLOYMENT OF PEOPLE OVER 50 YEARS OF AGE {--} OBSTACLES HINDERING THEM FROM FINDING A JOB
FURIŠOVÁ, Hana
Our position in the labour market is conditioned by a number of features (age, state of health, education, sex, ethnic origin) which define groups of people who are more endangered by a loss of job and predestined to be unemployed. Each of these groups has its specific problems or ``obstacles`` which prevent them from getting a job again. One of these groups includes people over fifty years of age. If an individual has problems to find a job at the beginning or in the middle of their carrier life, their chances of getting a job as they grow older are even smaller. Many people have to face the crisis of basic social securities. Situations when a person is, in a very short time, permanently separated from the results of their long-term efforts, from their social status, their colleagues and income are fairly frequent. The objective of the work was to define the obstacles which hinder unemployed people of over fifty years of age from finding a job, and to point out the issue of unemployment in this age group. The research was carried out in the Labour Bureau in České Budějovice and in the Labour Bureau in Strakonice. Methods of qualitative research were used, specifically a Questionnaire and an Analysis of the content of documents. The following hypotheses were determined: 1. The greatest obstacle preventing people older than fifty from finding a job is the lack of qualifications. 2. Along with an improvement of the situation in the labour market the number of unemployed people in this age category registered in the Labour Bureau decreases. The hypotheses were confirmed. The research showed that the greatest obstacle for these unemployed people are their qualifications which are insufficient and do not correspond with the current requirements of the labour market. It was also discovered that the number of people in the 50+ category increases or decreases depending on the general development of the unemployment rate. However, changes in the 50+ category are not very significant, and therefore, the ratio of applicants in the 50+ category keeps increasing as compared to the total number of job applicants. That is why the 50+ category rightly ranks among risky groups of unemployed people. In order to improve the chances of the 50+ workers in the labour market, it is necessary to improve their professional qualifications, eliminate age discrimination and modify working conditions in such a way to enable these people to find a job even in spite of various health restrictions. Elderly workers would have to change their opinion regarding retaining a job, their attitude to acquiring new skills and they would have to become more flexible to match the present labour market. The issue of unemployment of people over fifty years of age is and will be topical since it can be expected that the trend of ageing of the population and the increasingly dynamic features of the economy based on modern technologies, will make it increasingly difficult for such people to find a job.
A solution to the situation of employees threatened by an unemployment disabled people, graduates, people over 50 years) by further educational training in a company.
STIFTEROVÁ, Pavlína
In the last decade our society starts to face one of the most significant geographic changes {--} an aging of the population. Besides many other consequences (especially social, health, economic and others) there will very soon arise a problem not only for employers but also for the state how to engage this group of workers in the employment process even in their relatively high productive age effectively. A greater part of the staff, which is now 50 years or more, handles demands in the area of more recent working practices in a more difficult way, in some cases they do not deal with them at all. Though, even these workers want to keep their current position and not to loose their employment, the existential guarantee. Graduates of high schools and universities, who apply for their first job, are in a competition with other candidates considerably disadvantaged. Although nowadays young people are invested with a summary of the knowledge, skills and personal abilities, in terms of a probability to get a permanent employment they represent a risk group in all developed countries. The employment of people with disabilities is, despite of an active legislative support, problematic. Because of an increasing emphasis on the working productivity and the performance from the side of the employers, these people in the current society have less and less a chance to be of any use in the labour market. A bringing together and linking of these dimensions is, in terms of a company, a challenge for Human Resources Department, whose aim is to work towards a development of the human potential and its use for individual and collective objectives of the company through Business Education.
