Encouraging boys to read

in English Diploma thesis deals with the reading of boys. Specifies the needs of children in reading, especially the needs of boys. It characterizes dispositions of the reader and the influences that act on them. It summarizes the current situation of children's reading at home and abroad. Thesis mentions the reasons why focus just on reading of boys. It shows aspects that are important for boys in reading and further specifies them. Thesis recommends on how best work with boys and the texts in lessons. Based on research in MK in PRAGUE and interviews with boys lists the titles of the current book market, which meet the criterias of boys for their selection of reading. Then specifies these titles in terms of catchiness for boys and didactic potential. Presents an example of literary lesson which is then verified in practice. It compares the interests of girls and boys in reading, their perceptions and reactions during work in the lesson. It summarizes the knowledge gained from the interviews with children and observation of children during their work. Worcamp Liminality, or There and Back Again (and the extraordinary experiences that happen in between)

Bachelor thesis "Workcamp Liminality, or There and Back Again (and the extraordinary experiences that happen in between)" deals with initiation in contemporary society. It elaborates on initiation of transition between childhood and adulthood, which is made possible through the secular rituals of transition. A research on one workcamp is used to analyse this type of initiation. Three-phase concept rites de passage of Arnold van Gennep, focusing on the middle, liminal, stage and its course as described by Victor Turner is used in the analysis. The aim of this paper is to outline some examples of travelling, which may take the form of rites de passage, and through research on one specific workcamp show that it is possible to encounter the liminal and initiating characteristics of travelling there. According to the theories of Victor Turner emergence of communitas is perhaps the clearest indication of liminal stage (or rite de passage and initiation). Turner's understanding of communitas is very important especially for the empirical part of the text. Methodological work is based on participant observation in the field and semi-structured interviews with workcamp participants conducted during the workcamp. The advetnure - short story of Julius Zeyer

This thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and analytical. The first part aims to provide basic findings about adventure fiction, i.e. general characteristic, brief historical account and individual genres. Then an overview of Zeyer's shorter adventure proses, which will be analysed further on, follows. The next chapter examines to what extent and in what way adventurousness was becoming a part of metalanguage about Zeyer's work. The last theoretical segment provides an overview of period reception of Zeyer's shorter adventure proses discussed in the second chapter. The analytical part tries to answer the question how is adventurousness in Zeyer's work formed. The last chapter consists of a treatise about adventurousness in Svatý Xaverius by Jakub Arbes, a piece of literature of analogical nature.

I Live Tarot

Private deck of cards created during six-month survey and documentation of daily experiences. The package contains 49 cards and it is inspired by a set of 78 tarot cards. Text content - reverse side of the card was created using diary notes. Face side of the card was chosen as a representation of processes taking place usually in days when the card was read.

This bachelor thesis named "The education and teaching by game in children's leisure time programs" presents analysis of possibility of application the games in leisure time programs. The goal of this thesis is to create summary of about the games within experiental pedagogy. Next goal is to create the publication "Holiday guide teacher". This publication can be used as a methodology for the preparation of the game programs.

This thesis is focuses on creation weekly general programme experience kinetic activities outdoor in summer period for students in schools and universities. The chaps in theoretical part are concerned with description of basic definitions which are connected with an experience pedagogy, the pedagogical`s methods and means next with the characteristic of an experience action and the composition of instructor team. Practical part contains the created weekly general programme experience kinetic activities outdoor and the program verification in practice. Twenty students were concerned in this programme in terms of weekly experience action. Defined special questions were aimed at attestation of feasibility of the created programme and gained informations were evaluated.
