Analysis of the influence of cellulose fibers in epoxy adhesive designed for wood structural elements bonding
Dvořáková, Martina ; Tupý, Michael (referee) ; Vaněrek, Jan (advisor)
The thesis deals with the properties of epoxy resins, their reinforcing by thermoplastic modified epoxies, rubbers and cellulose fibers. The thesis also describes the production, properties and types of cellulose fibers. In the practical part of this thesis, there was executed reinforcement of epoxy matrix by different amounts of cellulose fibers. Mixing was performed in two ways – by a homogenizer or an ultrasonic homogenizer. There were also executed the tensile strength and shear strength tests to the manufactured conglomerates.
Utilization of accelerated durability test of wood glued joints for consequent service-life prediction
Šmíra, David ; Tupý, Michael (referee) ; Vaněrek, Jan (advisor)
The aim of my diploma thesis are methods which are able to describe durability aspects of glued wooden joints. The main objective are methods which primarily includes hygrothermal stress acting in the glued joint of wooden adherend and determine the service life of the specific glued joint by modelling based on Arrhenius relation and the other methods. Other part of this work is aimed to shear tests of the samples exposed to different thermal and humidity conditions and for individual sets of exposures determining the glue penetration depth into the wooden adherend by EPI fluorescent analysis. These analytic methods are used for quality check of the glued joints, which are mostly based on strength, chemical or structural parameters of the tested sample.
Assessment of Efficiency of waterborne penetrations for cement substrates
Hlawiczka, Jakub ; Tupý, Michael (referee) ; Petránek, Vít (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis is addressing the issue of using primer coatings for cementitious surfaces. It analyzes reasons of using primer coatings and specific features of application. There are mentioned different species of surface treatment for cementitious surfaces which is followed by methods of surface treatment by variety cementitious screeds, and self-leveling flooring systems. Then it is looked into general characterization of polymer dispersions (especially water-based dispersions) which have typical attribute for primers. In experimental part of thesis are compared ten different waterborne primers. Testing is briefly described and evaluated.
